On MSI's current US Web site for that model, there are four configurations, all of which have an 11th-Gen 8-core/16-thread Intel i7 or i9 CPU that's of the Tiger Lake-H architecture. You can order that Z16 laptop in one of these four configurations:
- i7-11800H with 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB m.2 NVMe SSD;
- i9-11900H with 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB m.2 NVMe SSD;
- i7-11800H with 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB m.2 NVMe SSD;
- i9-11900H with 32 GB RAM and a 2 TB m.2 NVMe SSD.
Only the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU with 6 GB GDDR6 VRAM is offered on that laptop.
Although any of these four would be more than adequate for a mobile workstation (in fact, each would perform roughly on a par with an 8-core/16-thread CPU-based desktop PC that's one or two CPU generations old), the third listed configuration - the i7 with 32 GB of RAM - is the best value of the bunch.
