Pr is slow on a 32gb Ram PC

Hi everyone

I am using a HP Omen Laptop of 32gb RAM, 1TB HDD, 8gb dedicated GPU and 4gb VRAM but my premiere pro 2021 still run slow.

Simple text animation MOGRT slows down the playback and get the interface sluggish.

Please what can I do about this? It's frustrating.

That may be your issue.  Premiere Pro runs best on a fast SSD.

What is your exact HP Omen laptop model? ?And what is the exact CPU and GPU does it have? And how old is it?

If you can tell us those exact things, then maybe we can explain why your laptop runs so slow in Premiere Pro. There are far too many HP Omen laptop configurations with 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB internal drive and 8 GB dedicated graphics in existence. You're being too generic about this.

Thank you for this info. Your CPU is now long on the tooth, and is about to be deemed "obsolete" by Intel itself. All support for that CPU, except for the necessary security fixes, will completely end this coming March (2024). As such, it is now seriously too weak by current standards - to the point where even a current 13th-Gen i3 (soon to be renamed as the Intel Core Processor 3 instead of i3) equals or beats that 7th-Gen Intel quad-core in raw CPU performance.

I have the HP 15-dh1065cl OMEN laptop 16GB/512GB/1TB Intel i7 10750H running Windows 11 Home 22H2.

Premiere Pro performs well.  I usually edit 1080p or 2160p ProRes 422 LT in Sequences with Previews also set to ProRes 422 LT.  Complex MOGRTs need to be rendered before they will play back smoothly, so I usually edit the video and audio as possible first and then add the MOGRTs.  Since ProRes clips can be their own preview, sometimes I duplicate the MOGRT and use Render and Replace to turn the duplicate into a ProRes clip, and the disable the original.

While it's convenient to edit camera original formats, I usually convert to ProRes.  I recently tried 4260p CRM files from a Canon camera to see what would happen and it was too much for the laptop.
