We have spent many months on testing render farm solutions on different Apple machines and while it was working ive now been convinced to move to PC.  We are currently running 2x Synology Rack 10Gbe units with dual 10Gbe connections to the VFX guys.

Im now pricing up the Precision 7920 Rack Workstation in a dual 12core setup running a P6000 and 128gb ram as a baseline point to scale up from there.  What im having for is anyone with knowledge or experience with workflows using VM software in  render farm situation or any other system you can recommend?  We are investing 4k RAW footage into AE, using Neat Video, Real Motion Blur and Red Giant Keying Suite to output an image sequence EXR format that gets pulled into Davinchi Resolve and exported from there.  Our bottle neck is the AE render portion especially with Neat Video using GPU, if we take this out of the equation it speeds up considerable with the current farm.  Our thoughts were to have a seperate investing machine and apply the Neat Video work at the start before working in After Effects or coming up with the best case solution of doing all after the AE work has been completed.

If anyone has experience with this type of workflow especially with Hardware/software solutions and can advise on how we maximise this setup and scale im more than happy to pay a consulting fee for the right person or if anyone has recommendations on their own experience it would be a huge help.  Thanks
