The new imacs with the M1 chil will be going on sale April 30th and am thinking of purchasing one - for processing 4K videos in Premiere Pro and for the 4.5K retina screen.  Are there any engineers in this forum or anyone else who know if Premiere will work or not?  Don't have time to deal with crashes, etc. so want to make sure Adobe has tested and tested with the M1 chip.  Thoughts?  Hope they are up to date with it....

The M1 chip is not listed in the Official Adobe System requirements for current versions of Premiere Pro. But Adobe announced the first public Beta of Premiere Pro for the Apple Silicon based M1 processor last December ... so they are working on it.

Premiere Pro may or may not run OK in emulation mode on the new iMacs ... so if you don't have time to deal with issues, then it's probably not for you yet.

Remember that any third party products like plugins you use also need to be re-written to work with the M1. Though I've seen confirmation from at least one major plugin manufacturer that M1 updates are in the works.
