Adobe MUST make all Video Cards usable. This is getting ridiculous!!!

I am sick and tired of doing a hack every time, just so I can use the GPU Mercury Engine, and I am sure thousands more out there, are pissed off about this as well.

And now a days, the Cuda Supported Cards Text doesn't even exist, so that you can — your Video Cards!!!!

Another great reason to move on over to Davinci.... I am really getting sick of Adobe. Really sick!!! Totally Sickening. If the card is not one that Adobe Tested, who cares???? Really who cares???

Many cards work, but just because it is not a card that was tested, we have to continue coming up with new hacks, to use our Video Card???

Again, I am getting really sick of some of the nonsense that Adobe does.

Adobe removes plugins as well, without warning, and when you upgrade, the plugin no longer exists, and you have to get a dumb message every time you open up the project, that the plugin is not there.

Anyway, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AT ADOBE, or I am moving over to Davinci Studio...

So sick and tired of this crap, along with the fact the Premiere Pro is always buggy in some way!!!!

We get you're ticked and also that you don't understand how Pr works with GPUs.

That list was from near a decade back, LONG before the app was recorded to simply look for usable hardware. CS6 was the last version it was at all usable for.

The "tested" list is pretty much a waste, as they do list GPU needs for hardware on various Adobe places and FAQs. On the Overview page of this forum is a link to a FAQ page, and on that you can find the requirements for GPUs to be used in Pr. As there are constantly more GPUs being produced, creating a list of every possible one would be near impossible.

Most of the GTX 970 and other "higher" 900 cards can work as will most any 1000 or 2000 series card with 4GB minimum of vRAM.

Many newer AMD cards also work quite well but not of course in CUDA settings.

Which card are you having trouble with, laptop or desktop?

Desktop. I got it working, by Disabling the Computers Internal Display Driver, by going to Device Drivers. i am not asking for a list. I am asking Adobe, to make it so that it recognizes all Cuda Video cards. I had to make a Cuda recognized text, and put it in the Premiere Folder, and it still would not work, so then I found out about turning off the Display driver that the Computer comes with. GTX 780. The Video Card has always worked fine, but I have had to add it to the Cuda Supported text many times, and now the Cuda Supported text doesn't even exist, so you have to make that text, and include your Video Card. I am saying, adobe should make it where Premiere Pro Recognizes any Video Card that has Cuda, so that thousands of people, do not have to find work around for Premiere Pro to recognize the Card. i could care a less about seeing a list of Tested Cards. All you have to do is a search on the net, and you will see that this is a problem, and people have to do workarounds to get Premiere Pro to Recognize the Card, because it is not apart of the "Tested/Cerified List" I am also peeved off because in the newest Update there is no Adaptive Noise Reduction Plugin, which I had used on various Sound Clips, before the Update. AND NO I AM NOT DIALING BACK TO AN OLDER VERSION OF Premiere Pro, so that I will get the Adaptaive Noise Reduction Plugin again. if Adobe is going to remove a Plugin, they should make the Plugin available to Download somehow, so that this nonsense doesn't happen. I am moving over to Davinci Resolve Studio soon anyway. I am sick of the bugs, and the nonsense with Adobe.

CUDA has been out there long enough to be several distinct "age" versions of it. They support the newer one, but have dropped support for the older ones.

Which is what happens in computer development. They've also dropped support for WinXP, in case you hadn't noticed. Sigh. I liked XP ...

People demand a new, small and lightweight code that also works with all 10 year old hardware as well as all new hardware. Sorry ... it's similar to the old puzzle of fast accurate and detailed ... pick 2 of three.

I am also on LiftGammaGain quite a bit. There are quite a few shops that are still running R14.x as they do not feel BlackMagic has shipped a stable version of 15 yet.

So the questions about "stable" don't depend on the app itself.

There are some specific GPU requirements for version 2019, but it's generally not necessary to 'hack' anything to make CUDA work.

Having said that, I do recommend the nVidia card is the only item listed under Display Adapters in the Device Manager.
