Can't work with HEVC encoded files

Or is Adobe Premiere Rush for the PC just the most bug ridden useless piece of software ever written?

It simply doesn't work!

Can't work with HEVC encoded files.

Can't edit reliably.

Hung and used 31.8GB of my machines 32GB RAM... Why???? What was it doing?

Appalling software - And I'm paying an annual fee for this.

Absolutely disgusted!

Mod note: Title was changed slightly.

Hi @AndrewSizelandPhotography,

I read your message. If you can't work with HEVC files, something might be amiss. Is it 10-bit 4:2:2 HEVC at 4K? That format might be available. Try shooting your 4K footage with an 8-bit 4:2:0 format; it should work fine. To get info on your footage, you can download the free app MediaInfo and take a screenshot in Tree View after importing the file there.

Give us more info about the file and your computer, as well, so we can help.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, I'm not sure if it was you that changed my post title - but covering up Adobe's failings is rather pathetic I think. My original post was titled: "Is It Just Me.....   Or is Adobe Premiere Rush for the PC just the most bug ridden useless piece of software ever written?" My issue isn't about lack of support for a particular codec, though that certainly was an issue, it was about the complete failure of the software to work properly at all!  I downloaded some freeware software 'DaVinci Resolve' and that worked perfectly. It took me 10 mins to get my head around the interface and then I achieved my aim within 20 minutes. Prior to that I had spent about 3 hours on your terrible buggy software included in my paid plan. Bit of a joke you charging for it really.

Sorry to be harsh but I am very disillusioned with Adobe. My Lightroom memory leak issue hasn't been addressed for months either. Your products are poorly tested and badly supported. Too much rush to get the latest (often pointless) AI features out there, not enough time spent testing. Oh and using your customers for beta testing is NOT a solution when you are charging them for the priviledge and disrupting their workflow with bugs that just shouldn't have made it into the wild.

Hello, @AndrewSizelandPhotography,

Yes, the title of posts can be changed for search purposes, not for another reason. People searching on Google looking for solutions will not find your HEVC formats or performance issues with the previous title.

The Rush Discussions board is meant for troubleshooting specific issues with Rush. If you want to discuss something else, you can post it in the Video Lounge. I'll move it there for you.

Thanks,

Kevin
