How do I set an end point for my video?

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2025. My first video is supposed to end at 00:01:43, but it keeps going, showing nothing but a black background. I set beginning and end points by pressing I and O. I used a razor to cut and delete the "phantom sequences" that displayed in my Master sequence.

I asked ChatGPT for help and it referred me to an endless list of things Adobe Premiere apparently doesn't have - Sequence > Markers, Sequence > Work Area Bar, and on and on. I can't find any of them.

Is there another software program I can import my video into and trim it?

Sorry, I posted too soon. I already found another program that allowed me to trim off the extra stuff. Thanks.

That's simply a user knowledge issue. As of course  it is easily done in Premiere. As far as export is concerned.

There's no reason I can think of in general use to have an "end" stop point on a sequence. Who knows when you're done adding media, graphics or such.

Who knows when I'm done adding media, graphics, etc.? I know, and I. would assume the software would know. But if it doesn't, and adding end points doesn't work, then I guess I'm out of luck. Fortunately, I was able to edit it in another software program.

Not many are struggling with that issue. I'm glad you found something to do what you want, and that 'would know' when you want it to end.

I don't understand the concept even. Other than maybe you want playback to stop on the last frame or something?

"MAYBE YOU WANT PLAYBACK TO STOP ON THE LAST FRAME."

Ah, so you DO understand the concept. Or, to put it another way, my original video had a file size of nearly 100 MB. Now that I've trimmed it (ending at the end point), it's about 16 MB. That's the "concept" you don't seem grasp. But thanks for your "help," Mr. "Legend."

First, how about losing the attitude? Especially to us volunteers trying to help people? Sheesh.

Starting and stopping playback is a simple, easy and normal thing. And is virtually identical across all pro leverl NLEs.  Personally, I use both Premiere and BlackMagic's Resolove, neither of which does this that I know of.

Nor have I in over a decade, seen anyone else ask for this behavior. Which I why I was puzzled.

As most editors, I'm pretty used to hitting the keyboard shorts to get the apps to do what I want when I want. Start, stop, incremental speeds, forward or reverse, all available a tap away. That's basic editing work.
