Try Resolve.  It's become a competent NLE, comes with the equivalent of After Effects and Audition built-in, doesn't need any kind of Internet access to function, and is free.

Thanks and I've explored Resolve - thing is, I need the native VR plugins in Premiere. You're right though, the free version of Resolve is amazing.
