UI, performance, and bugs are worse in Premiere Pro 25.2

New Here ,

I rarely write any comments but this new bad update made me that angry! I have 3 main things to say here.

First of all, the interface is a fully worse now. Why should I have to unwrap every setting with a clip like motion, scale, opacity - everything separately. Why the hell is it close by default?? And with every new added clip I have to unwrap everythin all over again!

The second is optimization. This is the worst. With previous version I could place sequence marker anywhere and the the preview image would change instantly regardless how fast I do this. Not it doesn't change at all so to select any moment fom the video I have to place it then play the video for the new frame to load on the preview screen, then pause and do all over eagain, every time to select a frame! This totally kills the speed of work.

And the last is about bugs. It didn't even ask me to confirm the update. I have auto update disable and for previous week it was asking me if I want to install the update but I was closing the notification as I didn't want a new update. Anyways, it installed by itself. So right after the update with the first video in the middle of the work it messed the video scale. It was showing 100% but it was like 140% on the preview screen and when manually decreasing scale from 100% to somewhere 70% it would just crop the video and mess up the position. So I had to restart the project and it fixed. But still I lost half an hour and tons of nerves cuz of it.

Additional one, from media browser videos don't playback normally when you point the coursor on them. Now it's kinda random whether it works or not.

Hi @Oleh36450131avz2

It sounds like you're having a tough time with the current release — sorry to hear that.

This may or may not help, but I thought I'd share: a friend of mine has the same 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro I do. When he upgraded to Premiere Pro 25.2, he noticed a big drop in performance. I upgraded to the same version and didn’t have any issues. The main difference? He was running macOS 12.7 Monterey, while I am on macOS 14.7.1 Sonoma. After he updated his OS, things started running much more smoothly.

If you're on an older version of macOS, updating might help get Premiere Pro working the way you expect.  This applies to updating the OS on computers running Windows as well.
