I'd like an answer to this as well. And how to set Bridge to not reopen all the tabs (plus the closed ones) from the previous session when the program starts. Is there a preference that can be set?

<< and do you get that white (Camera Raw?) dialog box after? Each time you either choose to be done or cancel your editing within Camera Raw.>> No, to that one. I also don't get the "some AI masks..." box when I open the Camera RAW filter inside of Photoshop. All very interesting. Like you, I'm not going to uninstall my plugins nor uninstall/reinstall photoshop. Too much hassle and I think the problem lies just within Camera Raw anyway. I did uninstall/reinstall that as well as Bridge but no difference. I sent link to this thread to the support people so they can see there's more of us affected. I'd be willing to bet that a lot more users are experiencing it too but they might not notice because the box appears and disappears so fast. I wouldn't mind it so much except that it slows down the opening of RAW files which adds up timewise when you're working through thousands of event images.

are you still getting this: "Some AI masks are missing and need to be updated" ? I've been having issues with that and I believe it's what slowing down the opening of my RAW files. I'm working with Adobe Support on it but they're trying to blame it on my Topaz plugins despite the fact that my husband is having the very same issue and he has no plugins installed at all.

I have no presets in use that include masks. The acr file is only for masking data and is only created when there's been a mask applied. This issue occurs with RAW files that haven't had any editing at all. But thanks for your input.

Absolutely no one here has experienced this? Is there a way to contact Adobe directly for help, to interact with a real person?

additional info: this is occurring with unedited raw files. no masks on them. anyone have any ideas? Can't click the "update all" button on a message that only flashes on the screen for 1/100th of a second.

Okay, I have an update. I used my phone to screen capture the error message. Here it is. Mind you, this appears BEFORE the raw image loads. Even more remarkably, this happens on my husband's computer as well.

I have the oddest little problem. I'm running Windows 10 with the most up to date NVIDIA driver and CC apps. When I open a RAW file, regardless of the program it's being launched from (Bridge or a file manager), the file opens rather slowly and right before it does, a little window opens on the upper left of the screen with what appears to be an error message, however it's only there for a fraction of a second before it disappears. It's not visible long enough to read the message. Flash and it's gone. I get a glimpse of a couple words like "need to" but that's it. This began one or two Camera Raw updates ago. Resetting preferences doesn't seem to make a difference. Camera Raw has set the graphics processor to Auto and says my system supports full acceleration. Changing the processor setting to custom settings doesn't make a difference either. I can't find any other settings that might have an influence. Has anyone else experienced this?

Several actually. But here's an update to my situation as of this morning: I don't know if I just got lucky or what but after trying many different recommendations and adjusting settings here there and everywhere, I came across the suggestion to Disable Font Preview. Did that, and my Photoshop seems to be happy and running normally again. I dunno if that will last but it's good for right now.

I'm having similar problems and have tried all the same potential fixes. It's really really frustrating. The program might work normally for a short period of time and then stop responding for several minutes. I'm really at a loss as to what to do anymore.

I'm having similar problems. Windows 10 Pro, 64GB RAM, RTX 4000. My scratch disks have .5T and 1.5T free space respectively. When PS works, it works well and fast. When it doesn't, which can be an awful lot of the time, there's no way to get any meaningful work done. The program is updated regularly by Creative Cloud, I just now reset Preferences, and she still behaves the same way. Tomorrow it might work fine. There's no predicting what it's going to do.

Thank you for fixing the problem! I don't know if Adobe realizes what an issue that bug created for me. I'm an event photographer and I often have thousands of photos to edit. I like to bring them into Photoshop for certain tweaks. Consequently, I have a workflow and have performed certain mouse movements for years. To have to abruptly change this workflow and find workarounds was more than a minor inconvenience, it was a major aggravation that greatly reduced productivity. The only good that came out of it was that it forced me to learn shortcut keys. I'm so glad to have my preferred workflow back!

Are we ever going to see an update that fixes this problem? Between the "not enough room" issue and images opening at 1-3% in size, etc., this has been extremely annoying and a detriment to my productivity. Yes, there are work arounds, but I want my preferred workspace back. Dammit, Adobe, do something!

Kukurykus, I am sorry if I have not been clear enough. And I am sorry that I do not remember the exact dates and version numbers where my problems first began. See screen shot below for my preferred workspace. The "not enough room to display" error began a couple updates ago and I began a thread about it on this forum at that time but no one seemed to have advice that worked. I tried googling around for similar problems but couldn't find any easier solution than to re-install photoshop. Because I am a professional photographer and need to get back to work, I decided to do that. I unstalled and then reinstalled whatever version was available through Creative Cloud. I rearranged the workspace back to my liking and went forward. I did not look to see what exact version I installed. Things then worked normally for me, even through another update, until I was rearranging actions in the actions panel. That required making the panel wider to be able to read the actions' names, which also meant moving the tool panel out of the way. Suddenly the "not enough room to display" error began again. ( I had not yet encountered the tiny image problem since it was not possible to know at what size they were opening since none would open at all.) I then came back to the Adobe forum, did some more googling, and learned about the potential solution to be gained by moving the tool panel back to its default left hand screen position. I tried that (undocked) and yes, it worked, images would open again. I decided to experiment with the position of the tool panel. I moved it back to the right and shifted it around until I found a location that allowed images to open. Then update 19.1.3 came along and images would only open in a tiny little window at the bottom of the screen. As you see in the screen shot, my preferred workplace set up is with tool panels on the right. None of them are docked. In the lower left corner of the screen is an image I just opened. If I move my tool panel back to its default left side location (undocked), images open at their normal size. Also, if I move the tool panel back to the right, but not in a place that Photoshop approves of, I again receive the "not enough space" error. Moving the other panels doesn't seem to create a problem, only the tool panel. I really do like my tool panel on the right side of the screen, it is far more efficient for my extremely right handed self. I hope I have explained myself better this time.

nope, same place I had it before - near to the right hand side of the main window. only thing different is that I updated to 19.1.3. I still get "no enough room to display" errors if I move the tool panel somewhere photoshop doesn't like. If I put the tool panel on the left side (its default location), images open at a more normal size. Would a screen shot of my workspace be helpful? Is it possible to post one?

What has finally worked for me was to move the tool column to its original left side of the screen location. I like to have it on the right (I'm extremely right handed) and I can still have it there if I tweak its location until I find something that Photoshop likes. I only discovered this after I'd done a rollback of an update installation and had to reinstall most of my presets. (reminder: back up everything) Occasionally, still, if I fool with the size or location of panels that result in the shifting of the tool column's location, I still get the error, but moving the tool column somewhere the program likes fixes it again. PITA but much less painful than most of the other "solutions" that have been presented here especially by the Adobe staff.

That's not really the answers I was expecting, I guess! But thank you for answering. Since I needed to get back to work quickly yesterday and no one had a quick answer for me, I reinstalled Photoshop, (didn't realize it was going to wipe out all my settings, actions, etc ! I should've been paying attention!), ran the update again, and am now in the process of getting the program back up into my normal working condition.

I just finished installing the Jan 23 Photoshop CC update, reopened the program, and attempted to open a simple JPG file. I rec'd the error message: "There isn't enough room to display this document." What's that supposed to mean? Then I tried to create a new document and rec'd this message: "Could not create a new document. There isn't enough room to display this document." My system runs Windows 10, has 64GB of RAM, 2T hard drives with adequate space for scratch disks. I normally have very few problems with Photoshop -- but this is a new one and is preventing me from getting any work done this afternoon. Have not yet tried resetting preferences as I am unsure that will solve the problem. I did restart the computer after discovering the problem but that didn't seem to have an effect. Advise is appreciated, especially info on how to rollback to the pre-updated version. Thank you!
