I've just been chatting to support and have had this issue confirmed - might be useful to know if you're pulling your hair out with a multi-panel or multi-screen workspace issue. So I run two screens for Premiere - as both screens have different Windows 10 scaling (one is an ultra wide screen and the other a 4K screen), I run the app full screen on one and break out a load of panels within another window. Been doing that for many years with no issues. The second screen has the project panel in it and positioned top LHS. Now when I create a new project with the new workspace set, the position of the project panel moves to the bottom LHS and messes up all the panel positioning and sizing. It only does this in the new version of premiere so I expect there's an issue with the way Premiere creates or reads the workspace XML maybe. I've also seen the project panel appear on the other screen, again messing up my carefully positioned panels. Issue has been apparently escalated to the engineers.

Hi Kevin, Kevin-Monahan​ Just been looking at the latest version (2018) and notice the workspaces bug is still there. Did this ever get escalated to be fixed? I'm having other issues with saved workspaces not loading correctly and as part of my trouble shooting, wondered f it's related. It's a long story and will post when I've tried some more steps to resolve. Thanks, Paul.

Unfortunately that's not the answer - it just resets the default workspace layout across the top of the program window - which is not what I want. The problem continues to exist in Premiere 2018 as well Why create a dockable window if you can't actually dock it - it used to work but was broken and hasn't been fixed (still).

Hi Andrew, I hope you don't mind me jumping in here - I've been looking for people who are running Adobe Anywhere to ask if it really works - you've kind of answered part of that for me So what kind of investment did you need to make for the servers and cards etc? Was/is there no cloud based alternative e.g. in AWS etc (I'm guessing not as it has very specific hardware requirements). Have you automated your proxy generation and sharing and do you share using any kind of digital asset management system? Finding out a bit more about how you do it would be very interesting as we're part of a new startup that needs to create a very large amount of digital content (AR, video, animation, images etc) and need to build a new team of content creators who will likely be working remotely. Thanks Stefan - Glad you can reproduce - this bug only appeared on the last major update - I had the workspaces panel displaying properly before that. I know you were saying leave it where it is in jest, however it's useful to explain how I use PPro - everyone uses it differently and for advanced or power users, we often completely re-arrange workspaces to work fast, the way we've been used to for many years and to incorporate some of the many third party extensions/windows/panels out there. I have a multi-screen setup - 2 x 4K and 1 x ultra-wide screens (not represented in the screen video as I was recording small screen for clarity and after a new, fresh install to prove it's not something else causing the problem). I need to maximise the real-estate the display gives me for viewer (at 100%), scopes etc - so absolutely HAVE to move it (or remove it) and have been working that way for several years at least. I've been using Premiere Pro and AE professionally since the first PC versions and edited many hundreds of projects and have fine-tuned my layouts over that time since the modern versions have allowed it. Just because a layout works for one person, doesn't mean it works for others - after all, that's exactly why it was designed that way with moveable/dockable/undockable panels/windows! I have undocked windows on other screens too which work really well. It's an obvious bug that others have also posted about in other threads too. Sorry if that's a bit of a rant but it's very frustrating when an update breaks something that's been working and relied upon for many years. Sure, it's a low grade bug as I can still get to the other workspaces via the menu too - just not as quickly and easily as before. I toggle back and forth between several workspaces regularly - such as edit, grading and other specific workspaces such as audio editing etc. Even more so in AE with the probably 70-80 script panels and plugins I use. I also use a number of extensions and panels from third parties like Wipster, Pond5 etc. So I don't ever use the standard workspaces <SHUDDER> I have logged the bug - and linked to this thread, so hopefully the devs will see something obvious in the code that got broken on the last update. and yes, I have reset the layouts/workspaces as Stefan mentions above. This is on a SECOND PC - not my main edit PC - happens exactly the same on both machines and is 100% reproducable.

Version 2017.1.2 (11.1.2 (22)) DOESN'T fix this issue - I still have it on two PC's and no matter what I've tried, it still shows an empty window. Stefan (can't tag you for some reason) - or Vidya - can you confirm that this is a reproduceable bug and that you're working on it. I feel very ignored at the moment.

Are you Mac or Windows? did you try setting permissions on the cache folders/drive? That sorted it for me. BUT I deleted all the cache files and set 'full permissions' on the top level of the drive and on the cache folders. Dont just check that they look ok - force a permission propagation if you can.

Just thought I'd share this in case anyone isn't aware - if you create a .MOGRT Motion Graphics Template in AE, it isn't protected in any way. If you open the resultant .aegraphic file that's created when you import into Premiere, you have access to the comp, pre comps and all graphic assets, timelines and expressions etc. This can be seen with the bundled templates as per the other posts on this forum (i've since discovered). I just created a set of MOGRT files for a client thinking that it would be safe (we never share AE project files and our expressions, IP etc) - on closer examination I discovered this. - so this whole process is no good for the way we work with many clients. Pretty disappointing What we need is a protected/encrypted MOGRT option.

I just deleted all of the cache folders - they can be checked from within the preferences. You'll see where they're currently pointing to. This could be anything if you've previously set a custom folder I.e. If you've put them on a fast drive etc.

I GOT IT WORKING! I was also getting the same error when loading a custom .mogrt template - every time at 15% So based on James' info on permissions, I completely deleted the media cache files and folders for both AE and Premiere (I hold these on a very fast M.2 drive). I also gave 'full control' permissions to all users to the entire cache drive. After loading Premiere and checking the cache drive (and cleaning any old files) it now works
