Yup! For anyone that doesn't need a full CC sub they can always sub to InCopy for $5/month (paid annually). That comes with the fonts and Adobe Portfolio websites. Kind of a no brainer to get the good extras for a very reasonable fee.

I suppose it could be scripted. Did you not notice these overset frames in the first place as you were working?

Quck clarification, Peter. When you install the fonts from Adobe Fonts, they will indeed only be available for Adobe apps but if you open the CC Desktop app and go to the fonts section you can make them available system-wide for all apps.
This screenshot is from Windows but I imagine it's quite similar on a Mac. Those fonts can also be managed online for websites.

Please read the post from @Abhishek Rao again. This is will be fixed in an upcoming release but if you want it now you can join the prerelease program.

Be aware that regardless of anything else, "intent" is meaningless here. All it does is give you different choices for document size and a few other preferences. It has absolutely nothing to do with color modes.
Additionally, I would discourage you from using CMYK and if it's absolutely necessary, convert to CMYK when you output the file.

Unfortunately, there is nothing elegant or responsive about Publish Online and since you haven't really provided a link to where you're using the iframe, we can't look at it.

Yes, it's a known issue and it's being worked on. Stay tuned, I guess.

If you and the client didn't test this thoroughly, you've learned a very valuable lesson. I'm sorry about the financial loss but it wouldn't taken about five minutes to print this out, test it and then start looking into it.

Leaked? I remember that fiasco and just about every major website was reporting that Adobe had made CS2 free for everyone.
By the time it all died down, who knows how many people downloaded the activation free versions. I think when the same thing happened with CS3 they handled it a bit differently but at this point, there can't be that many people using them anymore.
They're certainly not going to be any kind of priority for Adobe and there's nothing any of us can do here.

You could probably use numbered lists in InDesign but you still have your work cut out for you.

Nice find, @leo.r! Worth noting that most of that discussion contained what I think was incorrect info. IIRC, the discs for all versions were identical. Whether upgrade, education, or full commercial, the only thing that was different was the serial number which triggered the way the install worked.

Interesting. Not sure why it wouldn't be supported since any modern MSFT font would be TTF flavor of Opentype.

No, it was for the poster who said they weren’t even aware of the subscription model, which is now 13 years old.

I'm assuming it's a Type 1 font which Adobe has been warning about for quite a few years. I know that doesn't make you feel better but one thing you can try (and which I cannot vouch for) is one of the font converting utilities on the market.
Someone else may come along and have a recommendation or you can search through the community to see if you can find something.

Right. I have my own beefs but honestly, I can't blame any company for not supporting 14 year old software.

I get the frustration but the software was supported on what was then (13 years ago!) current hardware and operating systems. That would be Windows XP, if my memory serves me. They did not destroy the product; they'd probably make the argument that you tried to use it in a manner incompatible with its intent. If your original installation on the original machine was still running, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
Don't get me wrong, Adobe has clearly left hobbyists such as yourself behind for the most part but don't forget, you can always pay for a single month if you need to update an old file.
Finally, I wouldn't have even bothered with the above but you called me out, so you got my $0.02 in response.

Mike, the question was about being able to publish the document to Publish Online. Sharing the InDesign document doesn't do anything to help there.

Always use Opentype fonts and make sure that everyone is on the same version. There is no way to add a 2023 user so everyone will have to upgrade for compatibility.

Turn off GPU Performance in your InDesign preferences (if available) and if that's not it, export the document to IDML and open that.

Multi state objects are not supported in PDF and without seeing your file there's no way anyone can tell why it doesn't work in an EPUB.
