Yes it by design BUT yesterday, before the update, it was working fine since I could switch between color & B&W of the same Profile with a click of a button.

Also another issue: If you click "Color" you do not go back to your chosen profile, you automatically go to Adobe Color. Before update: Camera B&W --> Camera Color Now : Camera B&W --> Adobe Color Basically, form my understanding the Treatment panel (Color & B&W) are set as standard as ADOBE Profiles. The only way to correctly go from Color to B&W staying withing a Camera Profile and vice versa is to use the profile menu. The treatment panel is just mismatched unlike, well, few hours ago.

Yes I put it under my favorites. I don't understand why, if I chose to work with a Camera Profile, then Adobe Monochrome is chosen as a "default" B&W treatment rather than the corresponding Camera B&W. Yesterday, literally, it worked like this: Camera Profile --> B&W Camera Profile Now is Camera Profile --> Adobe Monochrome.

I Have encountered a minor issue with LR new Profiles. If you use one of the Camera profiles (Camera Faithful, Camera Portrait, Camera Landscape, etc...) and then switch to B&W it changes the profile to the new Adobe Monochrome instead then use the corresponding "Camera ... B&W" profile like in the past. Legacy Profiles (B&W Profiles for Camera Matching) should IMO as well be under a folder/list called "Camera Matching B&W".

Sadly it's not true that I can edit a photo as much as I want in LR CC Classic so I wanted to know if LR CC could be a solution and allow me to truly edit "as much as I want" or if it has limits as well. I guess I will have e to try LR CC myself but as of now I have synchronization problem that Adobe never fixed in the last 6 months so many of my phots do not sync properly or are removed altogether form my collections therefore LR CC for now I can't verify it myself... that's why I asked.

If I switch to LR CC on the cloud how much can I edit, or retouch my photo? What is the limit? The advantage of using cloud to me would be to have much more processing power available and so be able to do on the cloud more than I can do locally with my hardware BUT is that even the case? Did Adobe ever clarify this?

I still have the problem. For some reason LR is not syncing all the photos. What I did. -Delete all data. After that, in the same window (mobile activity) you can access an hidden option to rebuild the database. (To make the option visible I believe you have to press and hold) -After that I uninstalled LR from my mobile, then restarted the mobile, then re-installed LR Maybe it will help. I did it and now at least photos are syncing again. This said LR sync is dodgy at best the issues still remains. I decided to sync only few photos, only the necessary one arhat I know I need to show to people/clients.

Oh, ok. I will send Adobe a feedback and tell them to think about adding a way to do it. In another software I had the occasion to use the future is there and it's quite neat.

The title says it all. To clarify I know we can turn on/off an entire panel using the little on/off switch to the left BUT I was looking for a way to that per single value/adjustment. My workaround is to reset the value/adjustments and then ctrl + z

I don't have an answer. If it is a problem in those very files, because they are corrupted and whatnot, then Adobe should tell me. if it is a problem in LR Adobe should tell me. It's not an isolate case as I can replicate the issue on any photo just by copying the settings.

Before I didn't even have a supported GPU. ( I bought a new PC because I was told by Adobe that my hardware was the problem) Now that I have a way more powerful PC with a supported GPU it's the same: the issue is still there. Turning on/off Graphic Processor doesn't change much, if anything. I see some gains but really having better hardware with LR didn't bring the improvements expected. The biggest gain is when I turn off "Automatically write changes to XMP". That makes thing faster for sure during development (I turn it on again after having finished develop) LCC Classic is faster, it is definitely better and I saw the difference BUT the performance issues appear again just like before. If the issue is not due to lack of RAM or GPU then I really don't know what to do on my side to fix it.

Ok a bit more clear but I still don't understand what is causing the problem. In ACR I can continue working, the edits can be saved on the XMP and read by ACR...it's just LR that has problems. I have retouched/worked countless of photos in LR and nothing ever happened. Anyway I use Wacom tablet for the local adjustments retouch/brush.

I am not an expert in that, can you explain? What are "dabs" "d" "f"? What does the number next to them mean? Consider this: in another photo I did many more adjustments and nothing happened. And yes in ACR I don't have problems. I was told by Adobe to try Lightroom CC because many bugs have been fixed there. If I can work my photos in another app, be ACR or LR CC, but I loose everything once I look at the photo via LR Classic CC then what's the point.

Exactly you have experienced my issue, that's the original image/color not edited. AFTER FEW BRUSH STOKES in LR all the edits are lost, the image is reset to zero That is not even the original image to which the issue appeared first. If you copy the original adjustments I had to one of your own images then add brush stokes it will affect your own images as well. In ACR the issue does not appear as you could work on the photo so it's only LR. You have performance issues but I tested the photo on a Mac and on my PC with zero performance issues. Not your fault, it's more a general problem with LR that many have encountered: On Lightroom Performance | Adobe Blog

Link to photo WeTransfer: WeTransfer The photo is nothing, random one I took for fun BUT adjustments are the thing that matter. They belong to another photo. TEST: In LR. Import and then go into the brush panel. Edit/select the first pin on top. Add random brush stokes on the image, keep the mask/overlay active so you can see them as you do them, add as many as you can. Can you guys add, let's say, 50 more brush stokes or it resets to zero?! (carefully look at the history and when each brush stoke is registered there)

And it is not my system or my settings. I opened a new Catalog, on a Mac (I have PC), first time LR was ever installed on that Mac. I imported the photos, tried to edit them and LR rests them. It happened to Adobe on their own machines as well so it's not just me. Bridge is safe, bridge has zero problems with my files. It's only LR.

Just Shoot Me Done already. Bridge saves the edits right. The problem is that those edits become inaccessible to LR because LR resets my photos as soon as it reads/loads the edits form ACR. Another problem is that the number of edits/local adjustments I can do before LR decides to rest the phot is random, unpredictable. For photo I worked it a lot, another photo I worked very little in comparison and yet both were affected.

Just Shoot Me Yeah I get that. The problem is that if I click "import settings from disk" then what I get is a photo with zero edits, not even the basic ones. LR basically can't read what I did or decides to rest all to zero. I can't send you my files, sorry it's my work and I really can't put it online. I can send you a replacement file/photo with the same adjustments on it and if you try to work on it the issue will appear. I sent already the original files to Adobe, they have encountered the issue and now it's up to them to fix it.

@DdeGannes Please read what I wrote. I understand how xmp works perfectly. The problem is that LR rests the changes when it reads them from the xmp. I can chose "read from metadata" or "import settings from disk" in LR and yet what happens is that everything goes to ZERO. Zero edits, zero of everything. I can work 10k hours in Bridge, then save everything but if I dare to open that photo in LR and read the xmp & the changes I made, I loose everything. Bridge was my workaround, a way to finish editing what I could not finish in LR but it poses a threat not work because i have to keep a metadata conflict and read the photo in LR it resets everything. I can't do non destructive editing of my photos in LR itself or with an external app (ACR) without risking to loose everything.

@DdeGannes I am very aware of that. The problem is that even if I write the changes on the XMP in Bridge once I read the changes form XMP in LR, for some unknown reason LR decides to resets the photo/edits anyway effectively making me loose everything. This is part of the issue for me. If the edits are effectively written on the XMP by ACR/Bridge why is LR unable to read them properly? Why does LR resets everything? Why can ACR write changes to XMP safely but not LR? Also this happens on DNG as well.

I have a different problem. In my case LR literally resets my photo on its own. (I don't understand you issue specifically but if Vibrance and Saturation are corrected on their own without you doing it then you might have have some develop preset applied on import by mistake, without noticing it...that's my best guess)

I have only one camera and it happens with certain photos as I retouch (dodge & burn) them in LR, can't explain why! I tried as you said and reset the default settings and it doesn't work: I add one more brush stroke, as soon as the action it's registered in the history the photo goes to zero. Deleted the preferences several times with Adobe support, the issue is still there.
