I observed weirdnesses I couldn't reproduce in a new catalog. But I think we should be able to straighten out your catalog. "When I used the AnyFilter plug-in today, it reported just 8 images among my 115,000+ images as having associated WAV files." Any Filter has two different criteria, Sidecars and Associated File Types. Which one were you using? The criterion Sidecars contains the list of extensions which LR displays in its Sidecar Files field: Whereas the criterion Associated File Types for file xxyyzz.CR3 shows all of the extensions of files in the same folder with the same base name. E.g. if the folder also contained xxyyzz.pdf and xxyyzz.wav, then Associated File Types would contain "pdf" and "wav". Previous versions of LR would usually display all Associated File Types in the Sidecars field, e.g. "xxyyzz.pdf". But LR 13.2 seems to display just "known" sidecars, e.g. "xmp" and "wav". But I haven't investigated this thoroughly. So getting back to your catalog: 0. Make a backup of your catalog and verify that the backup works. 1. Select All Photographs and run Any Filter > Filter with the criteria Associated File Types and Sidecars: You should see a very large count for Associated File Types = "wav" and a very small count for Sidecars = "WAV" or "wav". 2. Click on Associated File Types = "wav" and Sidecars = "All". That will display all photos with associated WAV files. 3. Select all the displayed photos and do Metadata > Save Metadata To File. My testing indicates that WAV sidecars that weren't previously displayed in the Metadata panel will now be so displayed. 4. In the Filter command, click Refresh to rerun the filter above. Verify that the counts for Associated File Types = "wav" matches the corresponding count for Sidecards. 5. If the counts still don't match, select Associated File Types = "wav", select all the displayed photos, and do Metadata > Read Metadata From File.
