Rick Gerard, Thanks for your detailed information. I was able to play with the camera movements a little yesterday. With the time I had, I was able to slow down the speed. It did make a drastic improvement. When I can get back into the project, I'll try to lessen the contrast like you noted and try a stroke on the text. Video is not print and Serif Fonts with very thin parts are not very friendly with motion and position. Yes, I know. Thing is, that is the font for the *final* series artwork, and consistency is a key point for our production value. So, there's nothing much I can do about the font; I did not make that decision. As for the idea with the masks (martinr84659894), that seems a little to complex. And yes, probably a little unstable as Rick mentioned. I have enough issues with stability and Adobe software as it is (ie my Media Encoder has a mind of its own...). I really appreciate you guy's comments. Thanks for your responses. I'll look into changing the movement and speed of the cameras. There's nothing I can do with the thin font and black background, that's exactly what I was told to use... I'll also look into raising the FPS. It is currently at 29.97 and I believe that is the max that our "final format" screens are at. But I'll be sure to make sure, and I'll go higher if I can. I will also play around with the motion blur and a directional blur some more. I'm hoping that a combination of all of these things will solve the issue. Thank you so much! Ryan

I'm stumped and in need of a little help. I have an animated text layer in 3D space that is showcased by a couple of AE cameras. However, the camera movements result in a "shutter" on the text during said movement. I'm not quite sure what is causing this effect and how to remove it. I have posted a link below of a render of the problem section so that you can see what I am talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSmBeqPiW-0 I have tried enabling and disabling motion blur. I have played around with the shutter angle and samples per frame. Changing those values does not fix the problem. Do you have any suggestions? I'm not sure if it matters as the text is 2D in a 3D space, but I am just using the Classic 3D renderer. I don't know much about Cinema 4D and am not sure if it would help. Thanks in advance!! Ryan

Yes, Dells BIOS is frustrating. Although, I agree that these posts on the UserVoice system should be looked into. There is also the one below that has more of a taking (in terms of votes and comments) below. I have the same issue where the Dell BIOS/UEFI is so skimpy that you cannot disable the integrated graphics. I am interested to know how your call with "a manager" goes. I think that many in this thread would appreciate you giving us a recap of your call. As we have gotten no true response from Adobe, I think this great progress for desktop and laptop users.

rmartin215 , Personally, I would consider upgrading your GPU, but only to a 1050 or 1060 at max. If you went this route, I would wait for the RTX 2060s and 2050s are released as many will be selling their 1050s and 1060s, driving the price of the old cards down. I would not buy a second-hand GPU. However, depending on your platform (which you said was outdated), I would consider upgrading your motherboard. A mobo upgrade may give you the additional functionality that you may end up using. Also, depending on the generation and speed of your RAM, I would consider that route as well. I have heard that an upgrade from something like DDR3 @ 1400 mhz to DDR4 @ 2400 mhz can yield a noticeable responsiveness boost. Otherwise, your boot drive is an SSD and you have a 4C/8T processor, so you are in pretty good shape. If multi-cam editing is really a system and/or hardware bottleneck and not something software, you still may want to upgrade your mobo and CPU. In this case, you may want to look into what AMD has to offer (as long as you are not a frequent gamer, Intel still controls the market on single threaded performance) to have more cores at (possibly, depends on how much you want to spend) a high base clock. Mylenium , I think I have had to learn about AE's particle simulation problem the hard way. If you had to choose, which plugin do you prefer? I guess it plugins are the only realistic way to go, I would appreciate some advice on which to invest in. OR, do you have a suggestion to somehow make a system in HFP then easily transfer it to AE? That might work as I am somewhat familiar with with the Atomic Particle effect. Thanks, Ryan

Hello, I recently switched from using HitFilm Pro to using After Effects for my motion graphic work. I used to use the Atomic Particle effect in HFP to "particle-ize" text to be used as an exit transition. However, is there a similar effect in AE for me to use? I know of the effects in AE like CC Particle Systems II, CC Particle World, or CC Scatterize, but I'm not finding the same functionality in any of these effects. Is there something that I am missing in AE? Is there a better plug-in for AE that deals with particle systems? I know of Trapcode's Particular, but that is way out of our budget. Hello, Currently, I have a song inside 2 different tracks inside a Multitrack Session. Track 1 is the full song while track 2 is just the instrumental version. I needed the song to be shorter to meet the required length of the final product. Thus, I used the remix feature to shorten track 1. I also need to shorten track 2 the same way track one was shortened. Is there a way to copy remix's properties from one track to another? Thank you so much! Ryan

Hello, My boss and I are in the process of (possibly) switching from Hitfilm Pro to After Effects for our motion graphic work. However, we were wondering if there was a similar effect of HitFilm's "Light Rays" in AE. I have included a video (below) displaying the effect on text (its main use case for us) along with its properties. If there is not something that is included in AE, is there a preset online for us to use? Is this a preset that I could create on my own? If you are having issues, I would most definitely consider reverting the changes that you made. It is still hit or miss whether my internal or external GPU is used, but there is nothing more that we can be doing at this point to my knowledge. Ryan.

I appreciate the documentation that you have provided. It will take some trial and error along with time to get everything to my liking. I have answered your specific key question below. I am trying to edit and remap TO the following keys: Q, W, A, S, D, F, G, Z, X, C, V, B (I like everything to be under my left hand for efficiency, time is money in this business) Some of the keys that I have tried to move to this area but no avail: -, =, Left Arrow, Down Arrow (Specifically Zoom in and out on the timeline, not the viewer and move to the next frame and previous frame on the timeline, not the viewer.) I did not know about the “press and hold wile still” loop. That is ver helful. I think I will just have to do with that feature and seperate narration and background audio clips for the purpose of viewing the narration waveform.

Thank you for your replies, I do appreciate them. I did know about using the Ctrl key to enable playback while scrubbing. However, it is a shame that this does not work (and rightfully so as it is a modifier key) while going frame by frame. I am very disappointed that there is not a way to enable this. I was trying to switch over to industry standard software for my work, but if I cannot easily complete my main usage for the software, I may decide to revert back to my other software. Thank you. Hello, I am getting started with After Effects and whenever I attempt to edit a shortcut, AE gives me an error saying that the particular key you are trying to edit cannot be reassigned. This is EXTREMELY frustrating as I use other Adobe products, as well as another Motion Graphic program, and would like to make the keyboard shortcuts as similar for similar functions as possible. Is there a way to override this error and change the shortcuts? I mean, some of these things that I am trying to reassign I will never use for what I will be doing. I also have located the file in which AE stores the file of the keyboard shortcuts, but when I go edit, there are no friendly names inside the file. Each command is labeled as "PLUGIN_CMD_####", "IDM_*" or "IDM_A_*" (where #### is a string of numbers and * is a section of text). Is there a reference to these command identifiers to what they really symbolize? Then I can try to edit this and hopefully force AE to load these shortcuts. Thank you! Ryan Thompson.

Hello, Is there a way in After Effects to play audio when moving frame by frame? I am trying to keyframe text to a narration, and no audio plays while I move frame by frame. Ohim and thomasa18025948, I appreciate your idea of editing the registry keys, although it seems a little heavy-handed to me. Although if it works, go for it, right? I have two things to mention here, and the first is a little bit more information on how to edit these keys. First, use the Windows Key on your keyboard with the "R" key to open the run prompt. WinKey + R Then, type the following command into the prompt (then hit enter) to open the registry editor. regedit Next, hit allow if the UAC prompt comes up. Finally, navigate through the directories on the left-hand side to the path you desire. Once, navigated to the key that you are looking for, right-click the key and proceed to click "Modify". Here, change the value to what you desire, then click "OK" to save the edit. You will need to restart after making any edits. For us, first navigate to the following path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors\ Next, change the value of both of the REG_DWORDs to 1 by using the above modification steps. Now, navigate to the next path. Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Khronos\OpenCL\Vendors\ Again, change the value of both of the REG_DWORDs to 1. According to Ohim, this should disable the OpenCL renderer for the integrated graphics and make it useless to Premiere. This should hopefully force P. Pro to use the dedicated graphics when exporting. However, I will not be making these changes on my system for the reasons below. I will not know if it works for me and my system. The second thing that I should mention is that after the recent updates to the Adobe Suite, I have noticed that my GTX 1060 6GB IS (FINALLY) being used, during export. I have included a screenshot below. I am not sure exactly what changed, but nothing on the hardware side of things changed for me. Only a Windows 10 update and some updates to P. Pro have been made. If you happen to know why my integrated graphics are not being used and my 1060 is, please let me know. However, as I am the original author of this thread, I do not want to mark anything as the correct answer yet as this may be a case unique to me and my setup. red hard , The results that you have posted in the image of your post show that you are having the same issue as the rest of us. Yours is interesting because your sniffer did not even list that your CPU has integrated graphics. Either way, I appreciate your post, but all I can suggest is to submit a bug report. If you do file a bug report, I would paste a link to this forum in your report. The conclusion that I have come to is that this is just a bug that has gone under Adobe's radar. -------- HE1NOUS , It does look as if you are having the same problem as the rest of us. As far as I know, there has not been any updates to this problem. Again, all we can do is file a bug report and HOPE that Adobe will spend some of their resources to fix this issue. But, we have to remember that exporting is a very CPU intensive process. However, based upon my knowledge, I believe that the GPU should be used more than what it currently is. weipingl75112065 , Very interesting. I really had given up on this issue a while ago, but now that you bring this up, I am once again intrigued. I ran the same test on my PC and got similar results. Because of this, I am curious if other people in this thread would run this test, what their results would be. I think if that all come back similar, we have probably found a bug, just like you said. I think that is in the best interest of all of us. So, to initiate the test, first open your command prompt. This can be done by pressing the Window's logo + R on your keyboard to open the run window. Then type "cmd" (without quotes) and hit enter. Then, type: cd premiere_install_location i.e. cd C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 After, type: GPUSniffer That should start it. You can look at my screenshot to see how I did it. Then, if people could take screenshots and post them here, I think we may have solid evidence of a bug. However, and as far as I know, the only thing to do from there is to just submit a bug report to Adobe. I don't think we as users can really do much else.
