We use a Customer Communication Management (CCM) Software named OpenText Exstream. We produce pdf output from this application.

Our QA group runs the pdf output compare capabilities using Adobe Pro.

However, since this last release all the pdf output from this system is being compared as a scanned image, instead of Letter communication content.

Hi Gabel,

This should not happen if the PDF is not a scanned PDF or image file that is converted to the PDF.

Could you please check if you can select text on the PDF when you open it on the Acrobat application?

Also, try once to recreate the PDF using the Acrobat PDF maker in Adobe Acrobat application.

For that, open the PDF in Acrobat and print to Adobe PDF.

Check if that helps.

If the steps provided above does not help, would it be possible to share any sample PDF with us?

We would like to replicate the same behavior on our end.

You can share the file using the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Also, please share the OS version installed on the machine.

We will be waiting for your response.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

  • I am able to select the text in the PDF when it is opened in the Acrobat application.
  • I tried recreating the pdf by printing in Adobe PDF. I got the same result, it is still captured during compare as a scanned image.
  • OS version info:
    • Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise
    • Version 1607
    • OS Build 14393.2608

I will also submit the sample pdf's through the file sharing link:

  • PDF1_.pdf (PDF Output generated from OpenText Exstream)
  • PDF1_AdobePrinted.pdf (Printed from Adobe PDF)
  • Windows.png

I am having issues 'Creating the Link' in order to share the PDF files. Is there another way to send them?

Hi Gabel,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I did check the PDFs on our end and tried to compare the files.

When I select compare files, it shows a message that both are the scanned PDF file and contain no text.

Then I recreated PDF from both the files in Acrobat using Print to Adobe PDF and also used the recognize text.

It shows that the text cannot be recognized as it is a renderable text.

It seems that when you create PDF using that software, it converts the text in the PDF to vector.

This does not seem to be an Acrobat issue.

As you have mentioned it starts occurring after the latest update of the Acrobat, could you please confirm if you were using the same workflow before.

Also, let us know the Acrobat version you were using on which it used to work fine.

In the meantime, there is a workaround that I can suggest.

Try creating a Word file from that software and save locally on the machine.

Then try to create PDF from that Word file.

Check if that works for you.

Regards,

Meenakshi
