Suddenly today, any Acrobat file I open closes after 13 to 14 seconds. I've tried several different and unrelated PDF files. All the same response. Then I upgraded to the latest Acrobat. Same issue. Help greatly appreciated!

Hi Cindy_Shaler

We are sorry for the trouble. As described, the PDF files when opened with Adobe Acrobat are closing in 13-14 seconds.

Please try to reboot the computer once and check. If it still doesn't work please try to repair the installation  (For Windows Only) and see if that makes any difference. Go to Help > Repair Installation.

If it still doesn't work, please try to turn off the protected mode for testing and see if that works for you. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Turn off the protected mode and Uncheck the enhanced security > Click OK
Note: Please turn on the security after testing.

Also, please share the version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC and make sure you have the latest version installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

If the PDF files are stored on a shared network/drive please try to download the files locally to the computer and then try to open with Adobe Acrobat/Raeder Dc and check for the issue.

If it still doesn't work, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
