Autotag - Touchup cannot add annotation

If I try to run autotag on an untagged document I get:

Touchup cannot add the annotation tag to the structure because the Tag Root is selected.

The script is automatically selecting the root tag. I can see it happening.

Even if I create a document tag and a Section to get it started, it still goes back and selects the root automatically and gets stuck in this loop.

Help.

Hi @maxwithdax, I've been running into the same problem for the last few weeks and I think I finally figured out how to get it to go away!

1) In the Acrobat menu, open Preferences > Accessibility.
2) Under "Other Accessibility Options," uncheck the box that says, "Use document structure for tab order when no explicit tab order is specified."
3) In the Tags menu, create a few tags, like the Document and Section tag you mentioned above.

Run the Autotag Document command again and it should work! I hope that helps 🙂
