Does app.popUpMenu have a limit?

I have searched the community and could find a reference to my question. This is my first post. I am creating an interactive fillable pdf. I found outhow to write script for a multi-level pop up field. Eveything was going fine until I tried to add a fourth option to the 3rd layer. I get a SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list 1:line 2 error message. And now I cannot edit the script I have already written and the layers are all messed up. The only way I can change anything is to start all over from the very beginning. I am a complete noob to javascript and have already spent numerous hours just getting to this point.

My question is this: does the app.popUpMenu have a limit to the number of options at each layer?

Thanks for any and all help.

Why does you assume there is a limit?

First fix the syntax error.

Thank you for responding. I found the error and fixed it. I now have all the correct choices where I need them to be. I am learning by trial and error but would like to find someone to teach me (so I reduce the hours of trial and error), do not know the position title (coder, programmer, Adobe specialist?) to search for so I can find someone in my area.

You say you cannot edit. What exactly happens?  Is your script already thousands of lines?

Thank you for your response. When I remove the script, either by backspacing or highlighting and cutting, then save then when I reopen the form field, the script I just removed is still there.

Yes, my script is quite long.

I, somehow, not sure how, found the error and all is working now. I feel I need to have someone teach me at least the basics. This one thing has taken me more than 24 hours to do.
