I watched a couple of Adobe TV flicks and supposedly I can compare two PDFs by clicking View > Compare Documents. That command is missing from my View menu. Can anyone tell me how to get it?

Windows 7, Word 2010, Acrobat x (10.1.2)

Good day,

Bill is correct.  The Compare Documents feature is only available in Acrobat Professional.  A number of the differences between Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Professional are outlined here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html

Kind regards,

David

Good day,

It should be the last item on the View menu within Acrobat.  If it's missing, please try repairing Acrobat via Help > Repair Acrobat Installation

Kind regards,

David

Thank you for the quick response. I did not know about the Repair option; however, after running it and restarting my machine, the option is still not there. I thought I would check with the IT guy and see if we can completely re-install.

Do you have Std or Pro? If Std, it may be that it is an option that is not in Std.

I do have the Standard version. Maybe that is the problem. I’ll look into that. Thanks for suggesting that.

The referenced link is for Acrobat DC.  Is there a link for "desktop" versions of Acrobat?

DC is a "desktop" version, despite its unfortunate name... And since it's the only one that Adobe sells that's the only version of this comparison matrix that's available at the moment, but you might be able to find some archived versions of it, if you really need them.
