hi is there any way of retrieving back images you have scanned?
I have some PDFs that I scanned 28 total, I have 11 but not the other 17 documents I did after
Hi there,
Sorry for the delay in response.
When you scan the documents using the Adobe Scan application on your device, you need to make sure that you save the scan using the option "Save to PDF".
Refer this help document Scanning Documents — Adobe Scan Help for more information on this.
Once you click on "Save to PDF" it takes some time to upload the file to Document Cloud.
Please do not quit the application until the processing ends.
You can check your scanned PDFs in the Document Cloud here https://cloud.acrobat.com/

Open the link and sign-in with the same Adobe ID that you used for Adobe Scan.
Then go to Files > Document Cloud > Adobe Scan folder. There you will find all your scanned PDFs.
If you have not saved the files after scanning or if you have deleted the scanned PDFs, there is no way to recover them.
Let us know if you are experiencing a different issue.

I'm having the same problem as many people here. I successfully scanned 2 small docs with Adobe Scan (iPhone 6) and saved them to PDF, then I spent an hour scanning a 106 page document. Hit Save to PDF and then it said [Uploading to cloud] for a long time, then went back to the home screen. Phone was connected to wifi and app had cellular access too. Looked back an hour later and the file was gone, no sign of it ever existing in Adobe Scan or online in the Adobe Scan folder in documentcloud.adobe.com/link/documents/files/
Huge waste of time! Any way to recover this file? It should at least stay on my phone if the upload fails for some reason.

You can't do anything about it as there is no feature which saves directly to your device meaning it purely relies on cloud storage. I lost many big scans because when I closed the app it had not completed uploading to the cloud, which with multiple big files can take up to an hour. Clearly this is a flaw in their app design and needs to be changed.

This happened to me too. Intravelled thousands of miles to an archive, scanned files, and now some are missing. Adobe Scan is just not reliable. There has to be a way to recover files that go missing due to a program error.
In my case the list of files has also thousands of dollars. You have to fix this.

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!
Would you mind sharing a few of the below mentioned information for further investigation:
1. Have you checked the different accounts you might have used with Scan (Sign in with Adobe versus social sign-in)?
2. Which platform do you experience the issue with? Scan Android, Scan iOS, and Acrobat online. Please login to Acrobat Online (https://acrobat.adobe.com/) using the same login credentials as in the app and confirm whether your files are visible in Acrobat online under the Documents section in the Adobe Scan folder.
3. Are all the scanned files missing, or only some files?
4. When did the issue start? Any details about any actions taken then?
5. Scan app build version, device model, and OS version.
Look forward to hearing from you.

I spent 2 days scanning and trying to edit a 35 page document. I had just finished editing the 24 page and my document disappeared. I saved one of my 35 page scans to see if I could edit it afterward but was unable to edit it. Why is this happening? It is frustrating to have and depend on an app and end up losing your document and time spent. I think I should be compensated for my time by Adobe.

Hi @Shari5EFC ,
Thank you for posting your query here. Could you help me with few details to understand your issue better?
Make sure you sign in with the same email address which you used earlier to save scans. Try all the possible Adobe accounts you have.
Adobe Scan saves the documents as PDF in the Adobe Document Cloud. You may check your saved files over here, Open the link Adobe Document Cloud.
It is not possible to retrieve the files once deleted directly from the application.
I would suggest you always save a copy of the file to some other location or you can upload the files to Document Cloud.
If the files were saved within the application, they are by default uploaded to Document Cloud.
Otherwise, there's not much we can do to recover those files for you.
Let me know how it works at your end. If you have any further queries please feel free to reach.
Regards
Ria
