Unexpected copy.xd files getting created on cloud on saving locally

Is anyone else getting these "copy.xd" files appearing in their cloud files? 
All of my work is saved to a local drive **, and when I save my work XD creates a copy of the file to the cloud drive, renames it COPY (n) and then tranfers me to working in the cloud.  

This is a serious security breach that Im hoping to switch off somehow. any ideas on how?

1. The version of XD and OS.

2. Is this happening on a specific file or multiple files?

3. Do you have co-editing enabled on those documents?
