Regarding MXF file read error in update After Effects and Media Encoder 23.2.

There was an error reading the mxf file in the recent updates to After Effect 23.2 and Media Encoder 23.2.

Link is broken for mxf files pre-imported to the project.
An error message occurs when importing a new mxf file, saying it is not supported.

The file has a preset of MXFOP1a XDCAM HD 50 NTSC 60i, and the codec is XDCAMHD 50NTSC (4:2:2) file.

This codec is the standard setting used by my company.

The same file will be read normally in Premier Pro's latest update, 23.1.
It also works fine with AfterEffect 23.1, the previous version update of AfterEffect.

Currently, all Users in my company are experiencing the same issue.

I asked the local customer center in Korea about the issue, but I couldn't get a proper answer.

Hi @JONG WON28347797niy4 and @miguel _baker,

Thank you both for reporting this issue. We've released a patch today, 23.2.1 for both After Effects and Media Encoder, that contains a fix for an issue where MXF files with non-Latin characters in their filenames failed to import. Would you mind updating After Effects & Media Encoder to 23.2.1 and let us know if you are again able to import MXF files?

Thank you again for reporting this issue,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team

I have the same issue. My files are AVCINTRA files from Sony FX6. I had been working with the project in 23.1 version without problem. I updated to 23.2 and mxf it is not supported. We have two machines with the same bug. Need to reinstall the previous version to work.

@jjc.tri - short term fix - render using the Render Queue using ProRes (it's in Quicktime formats).  Once rendered, convert to an MP4 in AME.  I know you can render directly from the render queue as an mp4, but I find the above foolproof (I've had some compression artifacts when rendering directly and not had time to work out the settings)

@vinegarshots @ShiveringCactus @matthewzzz @jjc.tri Thank you for letting us know about this. I'll see if our Formats team is aware. Are you all encountering the failure to import MXF files on Windows or Mac?

Thanks again,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team

I am also experiencing this import problem.

I'm running After Effects Version 24.3.0 (Build 50) on Windows 10

My particular issue is with mxf wrapped ProRes 422 HQ; I do not have other mxf files available to test as of right now or I'd give you more information.

My experience is AE import problem, because every file (mxf) by made of Encoder is good.
