Audition Not Responding during save and export

On version 23.2. I was able to record audio and edit, however when I went to save the file audition froze. It would not allow me to close the program or do anything, I had to restart my entire computer to force audition to close so I could try again. Exporting did the same thing. I did eventually move the track to a multitrack and was able to export it that way, however it still would not save the file. Any time I select "save" or "save as" the program would freeze. 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled audition several times, restarted my computer, updated media encoder. What else can I do to fix?

Does this happen with a specific export type? Have you tried to export to .wav files? .MP3 setting?

 

To understand hangs generally, we need to know what the application was doing at that instant. To get this, 

1. If Windows, you can go to the task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), go to the Adobe Audition.exe process, right-click on it and select "Create dump file". This generates a .dmp file in the %tmp%\ folder. Copy this file to a fileshare, like dropbox, weshare etc., and send the link to audbugs@adobe.com referencing this forum thread.

2. If Mac, You can launch the "Activity Monitor" and select the Adobe Audition process. Choose to get the Spindump and save it as a txt file. Send this txt file to audbugs@adobe.com, referencing this forum post.


We will study the dmp/spindump and let you know where we think Audition is stuck. We can troubleshoot from there.
