Hey all,

I just updated to the new 12.3 version of LRC and tested it out with a couple of files from my Fuji X-H1 for both images the resulting DNG-file has purple lines going across the top and right sides of the image.

  1. Version of the app: LRC 12.3
  2. Platform and OS version: Windows 10 Pro
  3. Basic steps to reproduce the problem: Run AI Denoise at 50% on a Fuji X-H1 file
  4. Expected result and actual result: Clean image / purple lines on top and right sides of the image

I'll attach a few screen captures to showcase the issue.

Hey Rikk,

Of course, is there a place I can upload the raw-file or do I just drop it in this thread?

The forum doesn't support raw files. You can upload to Creative Cloud Folders, Dropbox or similar and then share a link. If the images is private, direct message me the link please.

Thank you!

Thank you Rikk,

I thought it might be "toothing pains" with the new denoise implementation. Hopefully my mallard will be able to help 😄

Hello,

I've just tested the new denoise option, works pretty well, great you added this. But, for some reason, it adds a blue line on the side of the photo...any idea why?

Hi Ory,

Are you shooting Fuji as well or with some other brand? So far I've been able to reproduce the effect on only Fuji files. Canon RAW-files seem to be ok.

The sensor is the same between X-T20 and X-H1, so maybe it has something to do with X-Trans III

Good point, possibly. Tried it on few files from the XT5 and it didn't happen.

Loving the new AI implementations with LRCC these days (though still waiting patiently on an AI dust spot removal!), but I just noticed that upon trying out AI DENOISE on a few of my NEF (Fujifilm) files, it introduces what looks like light-leaks (blue-ish tint) around one or two full edges of the image. I can crop it out, but this should probably be brought to the attention of the devs. (Can confirm that I too am using an XTrans III sensor)

I have tried the new Denoise AI feature on a Fuji XT2 image .... all seemed Ok except that the right side of the image had a transparent purple strip from top to bottom of the image.

Hi,

I've been trying out the new AI denoise function with raw files from my Fuji Xpro3 and Nikon Z50.

With the Nikon files, everything works OK. However, the Fuji files turn pink and pixelated in Lightroom.

The DNG file looks fine if I open it in another software, though.

I hope this can be fixed soon... I'm really looking forward to using the new denoise in my workflow!

Well, that is something else entirely. I think this might need a new thread since X-Pro III is not using the X-Trans III sensor and the issue is quite different. That won't be resolved with a slight crop anymore 😄

@martat14582229  Your issue seems to be slightly different to the other reports in this thread. Is there any way you could post a test file that exhibits the problems for us?

I've noticed that although the AI denoise feature produces excellent denoising results, it also creates odd magenta and purple streaks near photo edges.

I've observed this only in Fujifilm X-Trans files saved specifically as "lossless compressed" – the "uncompressed" raw files are unaffected. It afflicts all such raw files captured by my X-T2 and X-PRO2 cameras that I've checked, regardless of starting ISO or strength of the denoise algorithm.

Some key specs:

1. Lightroom Classic 12.3

2. MacOS 12.6.5 (this is a "Hackintosh" running an Intel i9-9900K and AMD Radeon VII 16 GB; I've never experienced such artifacts before).

3. Open a Fujifilm X-Trans raw file saved as "lossless compressed" and enable the AI Denoise function. In the preview, scroll to the left, top, or right edges, or confirm the file's creation to see the magenta streaks.

4. First attached photo shows the result, and the second image is a regular pre-ai denoise export.

I see the same on an M1 Mac with newest OS for files coming out of a Fuji X100F. However, with files out of my Fuji X-Pro3 this is not happening. Both for the X100F and the X-Pro3 I use lossless compressed Raw files.

Hello!

Loving the new Denoise feature but unfortunately it generates some pretty heavy purple artifacts on my Fuji XT-2 raw files. Neither the original raws nor their DXO Pureraw conversions show these artifacts. I've blurred the rest of the picture on purpose.

After applying the denoise AI to my images, I often get a blueish purple element on the edges of the photograph. How can I avoid this, is anyone else noticing this problem? I`ve tried recucing the amount of denoise but I still get the same problem.

what camera are you using?
So far, there have been reports of such red lines appearing on Fujifilm cameras.
It's probably a bug.
