White squares appearing while using eraser or brush tool

While trying to use the eraser or brush tool it will show this white squares and hide everything behind them, as you move the tool the squares get bigger or more of them appear on screen. The squares would disappear if you hide the layer but will  appear again when using the tools.

I'm not able to replicate this issue.

Try Preferences > Performance, and take the checkmark on or off of Graphics Prosessor Settings.

You may need to upgrade your graphics processor.

Does that actually affect the image? Or can you just mark it like that?
If that's the bug, it looks pretty serious.

Sorry for your troubles.  Can you share the PSD file and your Help-> System Info?

And can you check if "Preferences -> Performance -> (GPU) Advanced Settings ... -> GPU Compositing" is visible and/or enabled?

The bug was fixed for me after updating the graphic card drivers. when I checked the Graphics Prosessor Settings I realized my drivers were outdated, after the update the problem was gone.

I have the same problem that started after the update. Deactivating the GPU processor worked.
I have an RTX 2060 and the drivers are up-to-date.

Updated The photoshop application from creative cloud,

updated my graphic cards drivers , 

updated my laptops windows updates, 

Graphics preferences - Optimised graphic preferences 

Turned on graphics processor

Can you try disabling Preferences -> Performance -> (GPU) Advanced Settings ... -> GPU Compositing?

We kept having the issue after upgrading to the latest nvidia driver (531.79 at the time of writing) of a GTX 1070. Enabling the "Older GPU mode (pre 2016)" in the Technology Previews preferences fixed the issue.

I'm also running 24.4.1 with the same issue. Updating my driver (RTX 3070 Ti) and rebooting didn't work, disabling 'Use Graphics Processor' under Preferences>performance DOES work, however, I am using artboards, which needs this option checked on. 😞

I started having the same issue yesterday, after seeing this thread I updated my graphics driver, but it didn't help, but unchecking Graphics Processor Settings worked for me.

I reported the issue to engineering.  In the meantime, you can workaround the issue by disabling Preferences -> Performance -> (GPU) Advanced Settings ... -> GPU Compositing.

Ultimamente tenho tido diversos problemas com esse software. O principal deles é um bug muito chato que acontece quando você vai alterar alguma coisa. Por exemplo, vou alterar um texto que escrevi, após utilizar a ferramenta, aparece um quadrado branco aonde deveria ser a caixa de texto. Por favor, consertem esse bug, pois já cheguei a comentar sobre com os meus colegas da universidade (estudo design) e a maioria deles me disseram que estavam passando pelo mesmo problema.

I have rtx3070, recently updated. Everything is up to date.

This is driving me crazy. I can not even move layers! PS does not render properly. Brush strokes result in white blocks and these areas do not become normal no matter what.
