Premiere Pro (Beta) v24.1.0.38 doesn't allow Import, New Bin, New Item, etc. in Project Panel.

The options are greyed out, both in project panel (right click) and in File - New menu.

Thanks to everyone who dilligently reported this. The fix has been made and verified on Mac and Win using the latest Beta build --- Pr24.1xBeta041. Please upgrade to that build as soon as possible.

Thank you folks for reporting this. We are working on a fix right now. In the meantime, there is a workaround to keep you going:
Create something else New, like a Bars and Tone item. Select that and then access to the greyed out items as well as the Import commands will be restored.

It only works when an asset is highlighted in the Project window.

Looks like a bug.

Build 38.

I have a project that's 3 years old and has been updated to newer versions as the betas have progressed. It has 43 bins. Today I can't add a bin.  Is there a theoratical limit to number of bins???

Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open an updated legacy project with 43 bins

2. Right click blank space in project window

3. Try to add a bin
Result: ..."New Bin" is grayed out
Expected: ..."New Bin" to be available

Workaround:  None.

Update:

Need to add a still sequence clip to the master bin.

1. Double click blank space to get the import dialog

2. Nothing happens.

Then I right click and choose "New Item."

New Sequence, Offline File and Adjustment layer are all grayed out.

I noticed this yesterday in Build 38. Have not tried in 39 which I just updated.

I reset preferences and clear the cache when I run a new Build for the first time. And it was in a new project. So I think it is a bug.

Edit to add: same in Build 39. Win 10. New Bin is greyed out. New Search bin works by clicking the icon once search text is added. "New Search Bin" in drop down stays greyed out.

Same - I can create a new sequence from a clip but the "sequence" option is grayed out if I want to do it from scratch. Just updated to Beta 24.1

Have a work around, but it`s annoying ... creating a sequence while importing material, then duplicating ... This started only with the latest update ... Can create a bin using the icon on the bottom of the project window ... but not with right click or menue ... In Avid it`s sometimes because of corrupt user settings .. Can someone help, please??

I wonder if related to this bug:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-discussions/premiere-pro-beta-v24-1-0-38-doesn-t-al...

I can create a bin if I select an item in the Project Panel, then go to File -> New -> Bin. Also, no New Sequence:

I hadn't noticed the Import being greyed out. I commented in this bug reported by another user, but yes, looks like it started with Build 38. Still present in 39.

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-bugs/cannot-add-bin/idc-p/14125711#M1258

Workaround, select an item in the Project Panel:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-bugs/cant-add-adjustment-layer/idc-p/14124468#M1251

Also no new sequence.

Same here, but if you create a folder I believe it will let you import
again.

Yes, not only the adjustment layer, but also creating a sub-sequence, a sequence, a new bin, etc... but highlighting something in the project panel seems to reactivate things again, its almost that premiere doesnt recognize that the project pannel is selected until something is highlighted.

Yes, hopefully fixed soon.

@Ann Bens had the easiest workaround. Just select an item in the Project Panel. Then File -> New. In the Project Panel, you can only make a new sequence from a clip if it is selected. But File -> New gives you a sequence alone.
