So I'm in the process of testing out the text editor to insert clips but it's inserting the entire clip instead of only the highlighted segment.

I fixed it. The problem was I didn't have the Automatically set in/out points button toggled in the menu for text based editing. So without it, I couldn't get anything removed.

So if it isn't working for you make sure the button {} between the filter and pencil icon is selected.

What Beta version/build?

A screenshot would be very helpful.

Working for me on Win10, Beta 24.1.0 Build 41.

I'd suggest mentioning that specific button in the learning tutorial for text-based editing.

Edvard,

Thanks for reporting back. Good points. This is my description in one post to a user having the same problem you did:

"Be sure you have selected the icon "Automatically set in/out points" (the 2 curly brackets: {}). It is very hard to see whether it is set or not. Even when unselected, the brackets look lit up. The sign that it is selected is that the background around it is greyer than the rest of the background."
