Hi

Im using Captivate 4 (as3 / flash player 9) within the eLearning Suite.

Can any tell me how to use a preloader to show whilst my course is loading.

I have included(ticked) and chosen a as3 preloader in the publish settings but nothing appears on screen until the movie has loaded and started (no sign of preloader).

I have also tried making my first slide a loading slide and have inserted the preloader in the slide but still get the same, nothing happens until movie has loaded and starts playing (preloader shows on first slide after the movie has loaded)

Am I going about this wrong?

Any help or assistance would be greatly apreciated

I take it that no one has replied that this feature does not work in Captivate 4?

Can anyone please tell us how to get the preloaders to work in C4?

Hi there

It might just be that it's the weekend and most folks are off busy doing other things.

Hi

Captiv8r, thanks for your answer, I had found that info through the postings and implimented.

I have done as suggested, started all audio on each slide 0.2 seconds in but still have the same effect although it does speed up the download before starting the movie. The preloader is still never visible on screen, just a blank page until the movie starts.

Is the preloader swf supposed to be visible in the project folder, I notice that when i use a skin (using skin and toc) a swf is generated (my_project_skin.swf - which seems to then bring in the movie)?

I tried providing my own preloader movie to bring in the captivate movie, this worked but didn't bring in the skin. If I preload the captivate skin, the preloader only recoginises the skin which is a very small file, then the same blank content whilst it loads the main content.

I cannot understand why the preloader doesn't show at all.

Is there anything I should do besides on start and end settings, check that I want a preloader, chose via browse button, cylinder.swf from the as3 folder?

Ive tried 100% - 10% - 20% - 50% still with no effect.

Thanks in advance
