I use Overdrive Media Console on my iPad 2. I have used it successfully for two months downloading Ebooks from the library in town. Last week I started getting the
"Adobe Activation Request Error :2004 Adobe request error:E_ADEPT_REQUEST EXPIRED-2011-07-24T14:46:17=07:00(1311543977000) is before 2011-07-25T14:16;06-07;00 (1311628566827)"
I have checked the time on my iPad and it is set correctly, there is no option to change the time on the Ebook App (Overdrive). I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, I have tried getting a new Adobe account and using that, I have reset the iPad to original factory settings, what do I need to do to fix this???
HELP PLEASE!!
thank you
Jeff

What a wonderful, informative error message, eh? Maybe to a programmer, but
not to users like you and me.
What it's telling you is something concerning time and date from the library
where you were downloading ebooks.
I 'think' that means the ebook you were downloading had the wrong date and
time in its header. ADE uses the header to set the expiration date on a
library book. So, when ADE did the comparison so it could set the
expiration date into the future, it found that the date in the header was in
the past. This can happen when you're renewing an ebook, depending on the
software the library is using.
My suggestion is to contact the library and talk with one of their techies.
This error may stem from the library not resetting the header when the
ebook's date expired.
Hope this helps!

I thought that might be the problem when I first started troubleshooting, however, I get that error now, when I am trying to authorize the program, not when downloading content. at this point I cant even authorize my iPad.

I cleared an
by setting the time in general setting on an iTouch to 24 hour mode.
This was suggested by an Overdrive technical support rep.
They were very helpful.

Make sure time zone is correct. I had to update that on wifes tablet to get it to work. We had our time showing correct where we lived but for some reason they would not authorize with incorrect timezone.

I had the same error on my IPAD; deleted and reinstalled Overdrive app, but did not help, could no longer authorize. Saw a post about time incorrect and sure enough, IPAD was still set for Pacific time from previous vacation. Changed to correct local time, authorized Overdrive and was able to download books from 2 different libraries. Thanks to whomever posted the fix.
