unable to validate serial number

Hello,

im trying to install photoshop cs6 and i have a serial number but everytime that i try to enter it it says unable to validate ?

somebody told me that its maybe a problem with the host file ? could you be able to help me, its been doing that for all the other products also

Steps to check Hosts file :

Windows:

1)Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and look for file named hosts inside etc folder.

2)Copy the hosts file to Desktop and open the same with notepad.

Check whether you can see any Adobe related entries inside Hosts file like 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com.......etc??

Mac :

1) Right click on the Finder icon on dock and select "Go-To Folder" option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below mentioned command and then hit 'Return' key.

Called Adobe regarding this problem today - they had a tool you can download to solve the issue. It cleans up the host files on its own. Then, you restart your software, login to your Adobe account and everything works again!

I can find these entries in my Hosts file. While, I still have this problem, unable to validate serial number. I have no idea how to solve it.
