.I am having the same exact problem with IE 7.0.5730.13. Probably due to the last Adobe update. Interested in any work arounds or solutions.

Hello, you might want to check in Tools>Manage add ons to see if Shockwave Flash - Flash10c.ocx is ENABLED.
That would be my first suggestion and see if that works. You may have to reboot, not sure if IE8 requires that or not.

Mine was updated on sunday and is now messing up on certain sites.
I've been doing some research and it seems to be happening on everytype of browser and adobe is just ignoring it. After looking at about 50 different sites i have yet to find an answer. This is rediculous that some company can basicly ruin my computer and i have to just sit here and deal with it.
what would happen if i just deleted the Flash10c.ocx file and kept the Flash10b.ocx ??????/
p.s. I don't know ANYTHING about cpus or what flash is really and it's rediculous i should have to go through all of this reading about registry keys and all that stuff. Make your programs work!
p.s. Type in flash crashes explorer in the search and you'll see tons of people being ignored. Doesn't anyone from the company go on this forum???????

Hello agsdanh, don't pay too much attention to all of the complicated suggestions that people post. Here is my simple suggestion to you:
Start your own thread or look for a thread that closely states the problem you are having, like " I can't install Flash Player 10" you know something simple. If your problem is only about Flash10c.ocx error in IE8, we'll get to that.
Also try reading some of the more simple threads as I mentioned. And keep in mind uninstalling the old version of Flash Player and installing the new version Flash Player 10 is all we are talking about.
We will be glad to help you but this thread is going to be about what this person posted about and it will get confusing for you because the advice on this issue may not pertain to your situation.
Thanks

Ok, but I need a little more information than that. Were you able to install F.P.10? Please go to this site that follows and Adobe will tell you and also the version. We want to confirm this first.
Also, what OS are you using?
What Adobe products are listed in your Add/Remove
What browser add ons are listed in manage add ons
Have you installed any new software of any kind before you had this problem or after
Thanks, this will help do see where the problem is.

Well...I started my own post some time ago and have yet to get a helpful response. Everyone keeps telling me to uninstall I.E. 8, but my problem didn't start until I supposedly "upgraded" my flash to the latest version. In my manage add-ons, it still shows the old version of flash and on the adobe page to check which version I'm using it's showing the latest version. However, my problem is that I can't get any embedded flash videos to play. However if I go directly to the youtube page I can view the exact same video that would not play when it was embedded. However, some people, and a lot of companies, don't post the direct link to their embedded flash video, they only post it or put it up on their webpages as an embedded video. So far, only 2 responses to my query which has been up for at least 2 weeks.

Hello,
I am searching the hole internet for a solution even on the adobe forums there is no correct method for this error.
I have tried every suggestion on this forum.
Clean install, uninstall flash with the adobe uninstaller nothing works.
Why can't the people of adobe give a solution, it realy sucks.
I have checked the add-on in ie8 and there is a shockwave flash object and is enabled.
How long will this go through?
Sorry for my englisch but i am from belgium and there is no info at all in dutch.
I think i am the only one with this problem in belgium.

Hi, tried to answer you earlier, but my computer froze up!
Could you look in Add/Remove and list what of Adobe is there?
Also, list what is in manage add ons?
Also do you have the Google or Yahoo tool bar installed?
Thanks

Thanks cdjetta. In your manage add ons, try to remove or disable the PDF Conversion Toolbar, Reboot your computer and see if there is an improvement on the sites that gave you that error.
From what you told me that is the only thing I see that may be causing this.

cdjetta, I just sent you a post and read that you are going to uninstall. You do not need to do that. Your computer and what you have is not the same as Milla's.
You told me you had FP10 ActiveX and Shockwave Flash Object.
I asked you on November 18 to Disable the PDF Conversion Tool Bar and Reboot your computer and test the sites that you had a problem with and you did not answer me.
You do not need to Uninstall and Re-Install and unless you have the complete instructions it isn't going to work. For you cdjedda, you do not need an Uninstall.
You have FP10, Milla did not , she had to do an uninstall to clean out the old FP.
Are you listening? LOL

I also had F.P 10, so I thought we had the same problem,
that the diference lye in me having IE7, and cjjetta has IE8
The reason cdjetta wrote I think is because I asked if he/she still had problems... my bad!
Mine is uninstalled now, but the link didn't work, should I try with the link on adobes homepage?

Hi!
I have the exact same problem, but I have IE7
I have been in contact with Adobe, but they could not help me cause the flash player is a free program..
I searched a lot of forums, and removed the flash player, I also removed the shockwave player
Rebooted the computer, installed the latest version, but it didn't help.
I have been in contact with Zynga aswell, but nothing have helped!
Do you still have the same problem or have you found a solution?

Hi!
I'm using Vista
I was able to install F.P. 10
The only Adobe left now is the Adobe reader, cause I have removed everything else since it only closed my browser all the time.
What is browser add-ons?
I haven't installed any new software, only the important updates that shows on windows update

Milla 121, thanks. Since you removed everything except Adobe Reader then you need to start over.
Browser add ons work thru IE7. I want you to go to the top of the home page, click on Tools, then click on Manage Add ons.
List everything that is there and also whether it is Enabled or Disabled. This is very important information for me to have in order to help you.
What Anti-virus / Anti-spyware programs do you use? Please list them.
Are you using any Tool bars as Google, Yahoo or MSN?
When you have all of the information for me, please post back.
Thanks

Hi!
I don't use any toolbars
I use AVG, (the free version), windows defender, cc cleaner and ad-aware
Is there someway to copy the informaion in handling add-ons?
When I have the page open, and try to write the information here, the frame around the window blinks until I press the ok button, and the list over add-ons go away
Before I uninstalled the flash player, one add-on was named 10c.0cx, but it disapeared when I removed flash player

Millia 121, Since you had FP 10 installed before and then seemed to have a problem and you say the Flash10c.ocx was there. It seems like something else was causing a problem. After you uninstalled Flash Player 10, then Flash10c.ocx would give you that error.
I would try to install it again but after it is installed, check and make sure the Flash10c.ocx is in manage add ons AND Java.
Before you go to any web sites to check them if they are working, in Tools, Manage Add ons and Disable all other add ons except, the
Flash10c.ocx and Java add ons.
Hope this works for you.
