Are you located in China region? When you see this error are you connected to any VPN?
For Chrome, you do not need to install latest version of Flash Player. Latest version of Flash Player is pushed by Google as part of Chrome updates. If you have uninstalled Flash Player, you can go to chrome://components/ , look for Adobe Flash Player and update Flash Player from the updates available.
Can I think it's a kind of discrimination against the Chinese?
In addition, how flash player knows location of user ? You checked user's ip ?
While Flash Player is free to use, it is not free to develop, distribute or maintain. Adobe is a for-profit company, and as such, Flash Player has to generate revenue in order to continue to exist.
In order for Flash Player to generate revenue, Adobe partners with other companies through various distribution engagements.
In China, which is a large and complex market, it makes more sense to engage with a partner with regional expertise. To that end, inside China, 2144 is our official distribution partner.
If you're continuing to get this prompt, is it possible that you have an antivirus program or other utility that's killing the Flash Helper service or preventing it from being installed?
While I can appreciate the above policy laid out by Adobe, it seems like you've just gone against security best practices while trying to maintain a piece of software, that, let's be honest, is nothing but a hassle for any IT administrator trying to keep this thing patched and not vulnerable to the numerous attack vectors available to it.
Now that a user has to go to a website and install the software, they also are going to need administrative rights to do so. For a vast majority of companies, admin rights are no longer provided to a majority of end users, and they will not have rights to install. This subsequently increases the number of support calls IT has to field to simply update a piece of software that was previously updated via automated methods such as System Center Updates Publisher, and while we can manage the automatic update feature, if the online installer does not support it, we find ourselves simply having to strip Flash from systems to keep our systems secure.
How does Adobe propose we handle Flash in a corporate environment where it is a necessary evil, and has, to date, been able to be managed internally vs having to go to an, quite frankly, unknown, and untrusted source? Never mind the fact that the source is considered a 'trusted distribution partner.' You've now introduced another possible attack vector by forcing the system to go to an outside source to update.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, the only distribution licensed for use by clients in China is the Flash Player distribution made available by 2144.
I can imagine a few creative solutions, like providing your Chinese clients access to virtualized desktops located outside of China, which would be eligible to use the Flash Player distributed directly by Adobe, including the enterprise distribution packages.
We integrate ie to our program，Several foreign companies customers located in China region，and connect vpn to Internet，now question is flashplayer can't running。what can i do?
