Installed Flash Player 12.0.0.44 and IE8 hangs on Flash content

We are in the process of testing the 12.0.0.44 version of the Flash Player that was released in February for the Security Updates.  When I have installed the ActiveX version for Internet Explorer 8 the session will hang when there is Flash content on the page.  The Plug-in for Firefox seems to work, but the ActiveX control for IE fails.  We can revert back to the 11.x.x.152 version and things return to normal.  I have tried to install the update from the Adobe site directly and it still fails.  Is there an issue with the ActiveX msi install????  We even tried resetting our IE settings to the default and reinstalling the update and no luck.

Thanks

Same Problem here with Internet Explorer 9 and Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44.

As soon as you browse to a site with Flash content IE9 hangs.

We found that if you remove Adobe ShockWave that the new Flash version would work.  Even installing the latest version of ShockWave would cause the IE page with flash content to hang.  Seem to be something wrong with having the 2 products installed.  It only seems to effect the ActiveX version that is used by IE.

We are also having this issue on about 800 machines with IE10, we have it with any of the newer 12 Flash versions. 11 and previous works fine. What did Adobe add to 12 that is causing all this incompatibility?

IE freezes on loading of Flash content

We had to roll back to 11.7.600.261 which has the latest security fix for now until Adobe releases a 12 that actually works on IE.

We do not have Shockwave Player installed on any of the machines having issues, any one else find any other ideas?

Same issue here with IE8 and Flash 12...44, I left the hung IE opened for 30 + min unintentionally and flash page opened. Closed IE and opened again, works fine...

Obviously not a fix but hopefully spark some ideas as to why this is happening.

Same Issue with IE9 and IE10. We have the issue with or without "Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0.9.149". If we left IE open, sometimes it resolve itself.

Currently running at us with a 0-series with 1000 clients. Security Technically, we urgently need to update 20000 clients.

Same issue with IE7/8/9/10. sometimes it resolves itself when IE is left open for 5+ minutes, sometimes not. 2500+ clients affected. 2 users on the same computer, for one it works just fine now, the other one still has this performance problem. downgrade to previous flash (12.0.0.38) did not solve the problem.

I called Adobe, unfortnately no help.  They just told me to reinstall it and no support for "networked non-standalone PC" whatever that means.

Hello Adobe. When can we expect with a update? For security reasons, we are forced to react quickly.

I have the same problem.  Two days ago, when I installed Internet Explorer Flash Player update on Windows 8 and tried to play any Flash Player games on Facebook, the games would keep freezing before moving again and freezing again!  It's annoying!

We have had some success to avoid the problem on IE 9 by deleting the local Flash Cache as shown here http://forums.adobe.com/message/4278569

Hi,

We are currently preparing the packages for Flash ActiveX and Plugin 12.0.0.44 as well as Shockwave 12.0.9.149 and came across this forum page.

Yet we have not been able to reproduce the issues described above on a Windows 7 SP1 64bit with IE8 and also after upgrading the browser to IE10.

Testing included playing a Facebook Game and watching video content using the Flash player.

If anyone has links of pages causing the issues reported above, please do post them.

Thanks all for sharing your experience.

The version of "Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 12.0.0.70" seems to have fixed the problems. I could no longer reproduce the error.
