We just discovered this.. when you type or copy the word "Nettobetrag" twice in FM10 (i.e., "Nettobetrag Nettobetrag"), then an internal error occurres and the program crashes.

It only happens

* on the German UI (not on the English version)

* in FM 10, not in earlier versions

* when the spell checking options have the setting activated that checks for double words

Bizarre : )

... a certain word ...

Is "Nettobetrag" considered correctly spelled by Frame?

By default? Or only after allowing in document or adding to dictionary?

Hi, yes its a correct word by default (meaning "net value" in English).

If any character is changed resulting in incorrect spelling, then

nothing happens. I can even spell it incorrectly and then correct later

(e.g. write "ettobetrag ettobetrag" and than add the two "N"s) -> crash.

Robert,

Confirmed! You have to have automatic spell checking active, but this the default setting for FrameMaker 10. And the paragraph format must have a language setting of "Deutsch" (not "Deutsch (neu)"), so I guess it could be confirmed with other UI languages as well...?

If we would have time to spend, we could think of finding other words that trigger that »behaviour«…

I can confirm this, too. We tested it on several computers.

Just curious: Why would you intend to write "Nettobetrag" twice? 😉

Why would you intend to write "Nettobetrag" twice?

I found that "Nettoeintrag" produces the same crash. Maybe all words

starting with "Netto" are affected? Anyway, I was just copying plain

text fom a PDF and somehow a title or image caption matched the first

word in the following paragraph.. not daily routine, I admit : )

Thanks for reporting the issue.

We are able to reproduce it at our end. It happens with auto-spellcheck, when the word is repeated and the correction-list for the repeated word is empty. We are evaluating the fix.

Thanks!
