Support WebP in Photoshop Export As

The Export As dialog in Photoshop currently supports PNG, JPG, and GIF as file format options. Please add WebP to this. At present to save a file as WebP requires either direct Save or using Save As meaning there is no option to take advantage of the Export As options - for example to resize images, add metedata, etc.

@TheRealMrG – I have added my vote.

With WebP Save/Save As/Save As a Copy being supported by actions and scripts, at least one isn't totally out of options. The only other alternative is to use Export As to say PNG, then perform a batch conversion to WebP.

Some recent topics where WebP was scripted:

Much needed. The current method of exporting to webp is insufficient since it misses resize and preview for both quality and the resulting file size.

Been over a year and still not been added. This si why people are moving away from the Adobe eco-system. Really need to listen to what your customers want.

You've missed all of the lengthy discussion around Export, web formats, Adobe development, etc. People aren't "moving away from Adobe." Just look at their financials - huge profits. :eyeroll:

On a related note, one can upvote the idea/request to add a preview and expected file size for the Save As WebP here:

@Stephen Marsh thats a good point too, really WebP needs placement in all export options that follow the web export process. Using SaveAs is not ideal, and WebP isn't avaliable at all in InDesign either.

The focus of InDesign is for print, not web, so that makes sense to me. That being said though, the product developers for InDesign continue to use UserVoice to track feature requests. You can make the request here: https://indesign.uservoice.com/
