1% Minimums in Illustrator - Dropshadows, Gaussian Blur...

How do I create a drop shadow that ends with 1% process black? or a gaussian blur that ends with 1%?

That only works when editing afterwards.

Or making that shadow larger than actually needed, so it drops off at the desired size.

The Printer specs are 1% minimums. When they eyedrop the pdf it needs to read 1%.

Put a box below it, fill  it with 1% black and set it to multiply.

There is no way to do this with the drop shadow filter or gaussian blur. You would need to create  blend between 2 objects., or pste the drop shadow in photoshop. and do a curves move form 1% to 2%

1% mindot is not too bad, is your printer commenting you have to fix this? You should be able to release the files to them as is.

When you have for example a 8% mindot, is good to create exactly , so you can see if you have  and gradients or dropshadows ending hard. You can then tweak the darkness & distance to get something that looks natural.

If you have for example a 3% mindot on a white background, you could replace white background with 3% dot, to avoid the optical  jump of a gradient ending hard.

Today I had a job where they could not  screen white on flexo, so I used the plug in stipplsim to remove all screens and use spacing between 100% tinted dots.
