Illustrator 2018 Images look broken up..why?

My illustrator vector art starts looking like they are breaking up or having issues when I zoom in or out on everything I open. I am not sure why and I have plenty of memory and my processor is great, and I have nothing else opened but safari. In wireframe mod they are fine, but as soon as I ad color they never look complete. I am wondering if it is a setting I need to adjust. Any ideas for me?

Try this:

Edit/Illustrator > Preferences > Performance > uncheck GPU performance
