Catalina needs ALL NEW APPS. Apple wanted this. No choice. So CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5, CC, CC2014, CC2015, CC2017, CC2018 will not install. CC2019 (current) may install but is not recommended. It is too early to run a new system. Suggest you go back, if you can.

I'm having the same problem with Ai CC2019. All other apps work fine (indd, psd, bridge) but Illustrator won't even start

Hi Massimo,

As suggested above, older applications will not with macOS Catalina and CS applications have been discontinued long back and are no longer compatible with latest operating systems. CS3 is definitely not compatible with Catalina or anything beyond v10.4.810.5   (Older versions of Adobe Illustrator system requirements ).

Please refer to this similar discussion for more details: WARNING! InDesign CS6 and Earlier Are Incompatible with macOS Catalina

Regards,

Srishti

CS3 works on MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 with two minor issues. Illustrator CS3 save dialog doesn't like resizing. Dreamweaver CS3 crashes with some FTP reconnections if it is left inactive for about 30+ minutes. Other than that CS3 is perfectly serviceable.

It works for you. There have been a lot of people in this forum for whom it doesn't work.

If it works on a system, don't change ANYTHING! Because it certainly can't be reinstalled on any system. When that system dies, game over.
