masking with a non framed object

I found a very interesting feature in IllustratorCC-- we can mask any image(pixel) inside a line, group of lines(blend patterns) even any typography without converting into frame.

There is masking tool in Transparency panel, (Window > Transparency),  place a picture behind any such vector element like text or lines and on the Transparency panel click on make mask, then invert mask. If you place pic on top then you can convert pic with the colour of the vector object.
