Smooth Tool: Not Intuitive

Hi Team,

I have noticed something strange while using the blend tool or lack there-of.

When I draw a line or use the pen tool and still have the anchor points selected and try to use the "Smooth Tool" and smooth out the shape or line, it deselects the area i'm trying to work on. I then have to click on the "Smooth Tool" and then click on the section I'm trying to smooth out.

Any one else have this issue, why won't the line or objects i'm making stay selected and editable with the smooth tool as apposed to how it is currently you have to deselect the object you want to edit, click the smooth tool and then click again the shape and hope it doesn't deselect because you hit v or clicked on the object.

Which version/system? I cannot replicate that behaviour,

I can't replicate this either. Can you tell us more about what version of AI and OS you are using?
