I've been given interactive PDF's (ads with links) to place into an InDesign doc with other interactive pages. Once I export the InDesign doc as the final interactive PDF all the ad interactivity is gone. Is there a work around or setting I may have missed? Will this even work?
Thanks for any insight.
You won't like it, but no... It acts like a 'flat' image when placed.

A workaround: you can copy interactive elements from one PDF to another. Create PDF from Indesign with flat ads. In Acrobat, copy the interactive elements from original ad, and paste into master PDF.

Another work around would be to add the page from your original interactive PDF to your new interactive PDF using Acrobat, you can drag the page thumbnail from one file to the other. (View> Show/Hide> Navigation Panes> Page Thumbnails) Or, Tools> Organize pages. If a button is pointing to an object on a different page, you will need to fix it.

Thanks you all for the quick replies. Nice to have help when needed. Luke that work around did the trick. Not elegant but it works.
I have several individual 1/2 page interactive PDF ads that are stacked to a full page. I'll just have to ask for those to be pre-stacked, resent and then replace as a whole page.
Good call on the button thought as well. I do have an ad index (basically a table of contents) that I'll have to point to a page and not an ad.
Thanks again.

You are need to have source .indd to work with it. If you don't have it - you only can re-do this again by your hands.
