I got a problem: I received translations for several parts of a 372 pages price list as an excel sheet. So far so good.

However, everytime I copy a cell with text out of Excel and paste it into a text box in InDesign, there is an additional wordwrap (see attached screenshot).  Copy/Paste with unwanted wordwrapCopy/Paste with unwanted wordwrap

From: https://indesignsecrets.com/removing-the-paragraph-return-at-the-end-of-story.php

Open the Find/Change dialog box (Command/Ctrl-F), switch to the GREP tab (press Command/Ctrl-2), make sure the Search pop-up menu is set to Document, and type this in the Find What field: \s+\Z

Leave the Change To field blank and then click Change All. InDesign should remove the blank return at the end of every story in your document.

This appears to work because of a hidden, undocumented code: backslash-Z appears to mean “at the end of story.” So this GREP code says “find one or more spaces at the end of the story.” Note that \A seems to mean “at the beginning of the story,” so if you want to remove extra white space at the beginning of the story, you’d type \A\s+

Thanks to Gerald Singelmann who pointed this out on the Adobe forums...

how did you get this excel sheet to paste into indesign?  Every time I try it, it converts to just text with no excel formatting at all...

Hi LAW_HRP,

I don't think that the formatted Excel sheet is on the InDesign page.

It's just a screenshot from Excel that is placed to illustrate the issue.

To get some formatting from Excel while placing an Excel sheet you have to look into the Import options.

From my German InDesign 2021:
