Excel Table cell hyperlinks will not paste, place or import into InDesign

Copy link to clipboard

Copied

Folks,

I have an Excel .XML file with a simple table. One of the columns contains text hyperlinks to an external URL. I am trying to bring this content into InDesign while retaining the hyperlink information for that column. Obviously, I can reselect each word or phase and create a hyperlink but I want to know why upon pasting, placing , and importing Adobe will not retain the original hyperlink attribute.

I can copy and paste from Excel into a new Word document and it retains although that is in the same Microsoft environment. Any help would be appreciated. There are alot of hyperlinks and I really don't want to have to manually set each one in InDesign.

Regards,

Eric
