While creating a PDF from an InDesign file (InDesign CC version), we are facing a font clash issue for this particular character (ligature "hn"). This junk characters only appears in PDF files; it does not appear in InDesign files. Can someone give suggestions on this specific issue?

Hi Devia,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble. It looks like you're exporting the file from InDesign to PDF. If so, please share a screenshot of your export settings with us.  Is this Adobe font? Please share the name of the font you're using.

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

When you export PDF, go to Advanced Tab > Fonts > Subset fonts when percentage... Change this to 0%. This will ensure complete character set is included in PDF, although will increase the file size of PDF.
