InDesign 2020 causing external monitor to cut out

I have a new BenQ monitor that I'm using with my Mac Book Air 2015.

The monitor seems to be cutting out for 1-3 seconds every time I use InDesign 2020 v15.0.3.425. I'm on Mojave operating system (10.14.6)

It doesn't do the same when I use the other programmes on my computer, including Photoshop. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is this a bug? Any other solutions?

Many thanks.

Thanks for responding.

Mojave 10.14.16.

I don't seem to have a problem with Photoshop, Illustrator etc, just InDesign. Have put that version in original message for ref.

Any ideas?

Does it make any difference if you turn on/off the GPU performance options in the InDeisgn Preferences?

Are you using the Dark theme-  what happens if you use a different theme?

Select InDesign>Preferences>Interface. In the Appearance section select the desired Color Theme. The choices include Dark, Medium Dark, Medium Light, and Light.
