I was able to find a workaround. I have opened it in an old InDesign version. After conversion it allows me to add new entries. But, then I saved it as an idml and opened it in the new version and it allows me to add without issues. May be this is easier than troubleshooting the issue.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Are you able to test it with a different document?

It's working in a different document.

The author has many glyph characters footnotes, index. Most of them are not imported properly. So, I decided to add them manually. But, it is crashing the InDesign. Not sure, if it happened with someone else.
