Split document based on master pages?

Hello

I've inherited a document with over 160 pages and each section has it's own master page - it's a beast of a file and takes an age to load.

Can anyone please let me know if you have available a script that will split the InDesign file into individual files based on the applied master section - the file name can be that of the master page.

Thanks

Eugene

Hi Eugene,

Take a look at Extract Pages | Id-Extras.com

It can split a doc by section, paragraph styles, alt. layout, and more.

Aha! I hope Eugene has not forgotten this thread, even 8 years later!

If you ask id-extra, it doesn't seem to daunting to add it as a fourth extraction option. And given the amount of work it (likely) will save for you, $49 is not that much.

Yeh saw those - they don't do what I need.

I should probably just learn scripting myself.

Eugene, you're totally right!

… If you need such a script today and learn scripting very, very quickly, it's doable! … It's only 15h45 in France!!

I'm 30% through this project doing it manually and will be finished by end of day.

Script would have taken longer to write - and considering it's a one off I wouldn't be willing pay.

Probably never do it again.

Thanks anyway
