Table of contents won't recognise my paragraph style

Trying to put together a table of contents and have numbering set up in the style guides but it's not showing in the TOC. For example I have it as 1.1 in my paragraph style sheet but in the TOC it's coming up as 1.2. Help please!

You can change the TOC paragraph style to start numbering at 1.1.

Could you please provide screenshots of the TOC options and of your paragraph styles > Bullets & numbering?

I ended up duplicating my paragraph styles and amending them then using them for the TOC set up dialogue. Didn't realise that the TOC set up dialogue overruled my paragraph styles. Thanks

Your TOC should use its own seperate defined styles, choose them in the TOC set up dialog. Degine numbeting in those styles.
