Michael,

Almost all graphical UI elements are inside idrc_PNG* folders with IDRC extension.

Basically, they are regular PNGs with changed extension.

Splash screen can be found here: \Adobe InDesign CS6\(InDesign Resources)\idrc_PNGA\294.idrc

Simply change IDRC to PNG and you will be able to load it in Photoshop.

Hope that helps.

Ah, hours of good, clean fun! Many thanks, Marijan, Peter, and all! I have now customized the Welcome Screen, the Splash Screen, the About screen within InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Each one is slightly different in its approach. Photoshop was the most difficult. Illustrator was easy, as the files are named .png to begin with and are easy to find.

Does anyone know of any galleries of people's alternate splash screens? I want to change InDesign's screen but at the same time don't want to waste a whole bunch of time coming up with a presentable alternative when I have a load of work to do.

I only really care about InDesign's splash screen at present as it essentially says "doctors" (DRS) to me every time I open it. For me at least, this is currently the last thing I want to see when my wife is currently in hospital!

In Windows OS, this trick of replacing the png file in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2022\Required\(Links Resources)\idrc_PNGA" was working till indesign CC 2021.

I also replaced the idrc files here.

"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2022\(InDesign Resources)\idrc_PNGA"

Now it is not working in InDesign CC 2022.

Any trick to change the splash screen like before?
